Hongbit Posted Sunday at 12:33 AM Posted Sunday at 12:33 AM Washington plays tonight in the first bowl game. If they don’t jump on Jedd Fisch tomorrow then maybe they really are getting DeBoer after all. Quote

Deleterious Posted Sunday at 05:29 AM Author Posted Sunday at 05:29 AM That search firm is going to contact a bunch of people, so this isn't really news, I guess. But if he could turn this into an extension, it would be his third since this summer. Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted Sunday at 07:19 PM Posted Sunday at 07:19 PM I don't doubt this is true. But I also wonder.... why? If I'm Kalen DeBour or Kenny Dillingham or [insert top choice here], does the AD really matter after I sign a 7-year, $70MM contract with a $50MM buyout? Michigan is a top-tier program with top-tier resources and top-dollar donors. That's not going to change with a new AD or new President. Do we really think that new administration is going to come in and say "I don't like football" or "I don't pledge institutional support to football" in such a way that will actually impact the head coach's job? Stephen Ross and Larry Ellison are the real people in charge and they aren't going anywhere. Quote
casimir Posted Sunday at 08:07 PM Posted Sunday at 08:07 PM I’d love to see Urban Meyer named next coach. Oh how wonderful it would be to see everyone’s true religion then. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted yesterday at 03:48 AM Posted yesterday at 03:48 AM I have an out-of-left-field name. Mike McDaniel Quote
GalagaGuy Posted yesterday at 06:21 PM Posted yesterday at 06:21 PM Alabama giving DeBoer an extension and then getting beat by Oklahoma would be the funniest thing in a while. I just don't see anything being done unless Alabama wins a couple games in the playoffs. 1 Quote

Mike MacDonald would not want it, and Michigan would be absolutely tone deaf to hire anyone who has anything to do with Jim Harbaugh. Not saying they wouldn't, but it would be a very stupid move. They need to completely cut ties to Jim Harbaugh - COMPLETELY. (And I guess, in a strange way, Stephen Ross owns the Dolphins and he basically bankrolled Harbaugh's nonsense, so McDaniel could be out). They could end up with Biff for a year. He's basically the modern take on Steve Fisher. I do think Michigan is going to go young with the next coach, unless they just can't find anyone Uncertainty with the AD doesn't help. But they also have an interim president. What a ****in' mess. Quote

Best possible outcome -- Warde is out there finding replacements for both Moore and himself. I think I said it before, but it seems to me that only way Warde comes through this without being too wounded in the org is if it's know on the inside that Moore was not his 1st choice. And that just doesn't seem likely to have been the case. Edited 19 hours ago by gehringer_2 Quote
