IdahoBert Posted Tuesday at 05:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:06 PM I have generally repressed the memory of that 2012 World Series. It’s right up there with “The Silence“ from Doctor Who that appear within your peripheral vision and the scary clown who hid in the hallway closet when I was a kid behind the musty old coats my parents hadn’t worn in 20 years. Tiger337 Posted Tuesday at 05:08 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:08 PM (edited) I also don't remember anything about the 2012 series. I just remember it as a dud with nothing interesting happening. I don't think I even got emotional about it. Not like 2006 or 2009 or 1987. Edited Tuesday at 05:09 PM by Tiger337 Quote

He was set up. The "victim's" texts to a friend showed she targeted him, discussed his net worth, and even told her friend she would have him choke her. Bauer is a ****, but it sure looks like he got railroaded imho. Maybe after this ruling he will get another shot. He's been pitching on the Mexican league Quote
oblong Posted Wednesday at 11:15 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:15 AM I don't think what MLB knows and the reason he's "out" is related to this incident though. Quote

MLB's investigation very clearly uncovered a lot more. Dickerson's Tiger Talk rant last year hinted that he was let in on some of what was known. Quote

It's easy enough to believe he'd given someone somewhere reason to believe that targeting him might be successful. Quote
oblong Posted Wednesday at 05:11 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:11 PM If he's a victim... why doesn't he try to sue MLB? Quote
Edman85 Posted Wednesday at 06:16 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:16 PM (edited) I have to go back through my texts but I have a lot of friends in the Cincinnati area and vaguely remember one saying they knew somebody who was abused by him while with the Reds. I could be misremembering though. Edited Wednesday at 06:17 PM by Edman85 Quote
oblong Posted Wednesday at 06:43 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:43 PM Ultimately any grievance he has is for him to sort out. This isn't a public interest issue. It's not a government entity falsy accusing or holding him to a standard he may not deserve so it's not really our business. It's not about "justice". Is it a crime if an organization says "We don't want that baggage?" It's a risk they are taking in not making their team better and they weight that against public sentiment. Teams decided it's not worth it. That's how life works. He could sue them. He hasn't. 1 Quote
