Dan Gilmore Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Agreed that Jung had fallen off so much that he wasn’t going to be in the organizations short-term plans. And that him making a change that has positive results is great. Whether that can be sustained or if it means they keep him long term is TBD. Normally a high draft choice like him would be a significant chip for a trade, but so far this year his value was too low. Can he do enough in the next month to raise his stock? Quote
LongLiveMaroth Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I was curious where Miranda was. Two prominent names missing from the Tigers’ Dominican Summer League teams are expected back early next month: Nestor Miranda, 19, a right-handed batting third baseman who signed 17 months ago for $1.5 million, has been out with a left shoulder strain. Steven Madero, 18, and a left-handed hitting catcher who has steadily wowed the Tigers staff since he came aboard, also will resume work following a quad strain. 1 Quote

papalawrence Posted Thursday at 02:42 PM Posted Thursday at 02:42 PM CBS released their updated rankings - McGonigle is up to #8 overall and Clark is at 10. That seems correct to me. McGonigle's bat to ball is truly elite Tigers Prospect Vaults to No. 1 After Breakout Campaign https://share.google/UzpjF1XnnsrUarkw5 Quote
RandyMarsh Posted Thursday at 06:44 PM Posted Thursday at 06:44 PM (edited) Barring something major I suspect 8 will probably be about the lowest McGonigle finds himself on any updated prospect list made in the coming weeks. From what I have gathered from the national folks on x and YT he is essentially a consensus top 5 overall prospect at this point among players that haven't debuted yet so in the coming weeks once guys like Anthony and others lose their prospect status McGonigle will likely find himself in the top 5 when places update their midseason rankings. RandyMarsh Posted Friday at 03:40 PM Posted Friday at 03:40 PM In regards to McGonigle and his potential future prospect ranking I came across this in the latest Law chat, earlier in the thread somebody posed a question about who is most likely to be number 1 come next season and named Chandler, Made, Pena, Griffin or other. Keith said other. Then later in the chat somebody asked this. zoor: Kevin McGonigle on #1 prospect watch ? Keith Law: Yes. Keith Law: That’s a guy more likely to be #1 in January than any of the other three in the question above where I said “Other.” 1 Quote
