According to my Yahoo weather app, it will be raining all day tomorrow at least during game time. I am preparing for a doubleheader the next day.

Check the weather for Wednesday and Thursday. They'll be lucky to get 1 game in Wednesday. But Thursday looks nice, schedule a DH for then.

I doubt they'd play a DH on Thursday when they have a game in TX on Friday.

True. I didn't think of that. They should have had an off day ending the longest trip of the season. It'll be good to get them back in Detroit.

According to my yahoo weather app — which relies upon Weather Underground — the game must assuredly be rained out on Tuesday. On Wednesday it should merely be cloudy, and on Thursday afternoon sunny. So if this is what happens, we should be able to get this series in with a doubleheader on Wednesday and a day game on Thursday.

They will wait out the rain as long as it takes the get three games in by end of day Thursday, because the logistics of making up a rainout in Denver later in the season is so difficult. If they still can’t manage to do so, they might make up the game on July 17, the last day of the All-Star break, when the Tigers are on their way to Texas for a series starting the next day, and the Rockies are preparing to start a home series. They’d have to coordinate with the All-Star managers to not play them, at least much, during that game. It would probably be a late afternoon game, like a 4pm start, to maximize TV exposure for Tigers fans.

Watching that Yankees/Padres game last night where they tried playing through the rain was painful, and not just because I was watching the Yankees...

It looked so miserable. Pivetta was asking for a new ball after every pitch, and he still couldn't keep it from slipping out of his hand. All of that to say, I hope the Tigers don't have to do that.

Primetime game with two huge markets NY/SD. Tigers/Rockies will be cancelled before the first scheduled pitch.

Considering this is interleague and the only I time these teams play each other(Ihaven't checked but I  presume anyway) they will likely be more liberal with the type of weather they play in and do everything they can to get all the games in.

I watched that game too. Very nice comeback for San Diego. The Celtics Knicks game was too boring so I switched to MLB. And this morning, I see the Knicks came back. Boston lives or dies by 3 pointers. Last night, they died.

Doesn't look too promising right now. There is rain pattern centered just South of Denver that is  pretty stationary right now and the circulation is dropping light right rain on Denver. Forecast is >75% chance of light rain continuing right through 11pm. Not to mention only 44 deg F.

Ahhh...football in mud or snow is OK. Baseball? Not so much. I don't like it either.

I think football is playing far less in terrible weather. They play in cold and some snow, but I don't think they play in slop because of safety reasons (e.g., ligament tears when slipping).

They keep the fields in pretty good shape and there are many domes but at times they slide around on the fields and the only time they usually have delays is for lightning. Watching the NY-SD game last night, those players were miserable. But NY blew it so it was worth it...🤣🤣

I hate this, though.   With 8 or 9 All Stars, our team is going to be very tired.
