Wouldn’t that cede the front of the plate to the runner, since the catcher would have to reach across the plate from the back of it to tag him out? Quote

Seems it's a lot shorter reach to make a tag attempt than it is taking the throw in front of the plate and then trying to swipe behind you blindly. Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Malloy is not really a weapon at this point. Can’t wait for Meadows to be back. 1 Quote
gehringer_2 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 didn't like the move. I wouldn't give up my SS with two outs already. Quote
Tenacious D Posted May 25 Posted May 25 We were gifted Herrin and didn’t take advantage. Now we get Clase. And they get Brebbia Quote

That was my issue with the play Jake made. I don’t think he was in the wrong spot necessarily, I think his positioning was fine. I just think he caught the ball too far in front of the play because then he had to sweep behind him to try to get the out and he was never going to catch up to the runner that way. I think he needed to let the ball travel closer the runner before catching it so he’d just put the mitt down for the out. Quote

GalagaGuy Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I saw that coming the moment he bunted foul for strike two. Screw this, going back to the hockey game. Quote
Tenacious D Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I honestly don’t know how the Indians had a negative run differential coming into this series. They look so much more complete than we do. Quote

Tenacious D Posted May 25 Posted May 25 The inability of anyone in our pen to get a K is troubling. Vest is closest, but should be a setup guy. Quote
