gehringer_2 Posted Saturday at 10:23 PM Posted Saturday at 10:23 PM For once, Hinch pushed the wrong button today. Quote

Graterol Posted Saturday at 10:32 PM Posted Saturday at 10:32 PM Brieske has a fip/xfip of 5+, negative war, and a k/9 of 6. He also pitched the last game. He is who we go with there? Quote
GalagaGuy Posted Saturday at 10:34 PM Posted Saturday at 10:34 PM If Skubal stays in the game and gives up a dinger, the same people complaining that he was pulled are complaining that he was left in. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted Saturday at 10:38 PM Posted Saturday at 10:38 PM Yesterday was the only time in the last 15 games they got Bert's 6 runs or more, in the prior 33 games they did it 22 times. Quote

GalagaGuy Posted Saturday at 11:00 PM Posted Saturday at 11:00 PM Tigers will be salty about today's lack of hitting so I think they'll come out knocking the ball around tomorrow. Quote
papalawrence Posted Saturday at 11:15 PM Posted Saturday at 11:15 PM Sometimes you tip your cap. This outing dropped Wacha's era to 2.88 Quote
RandyMarsh Posted Saturday at 11:32 PM Posted Saturday at 11:32 PM Random Skubal tidbit, since his return in July of 2023 he has faced roughly 250 lefties, he's given up a total of 4 extra base hits against them and none this year. Mind boggling! 1 Quote

Bleh They were a playoff team last year, are over .500 this year and have a top 5 player in MLB. Their offense is lacking but they're hardly aaaa. Wacha has an arsenal mix like Bibee and Hendricks, and all gave the Tigers problems. Quote

Check out thst line-up. Oh, just let me vent! Quote
RandyMarsh Posted Saturday at 11:52 PM Posted Saturday at 11:52 PM Skubal has given up 4 base runners or less in 8 out of his last 10 starts and in half of them 3 or less. Has a WHIP of .58 in that time. Quote

papalawrence Posted Sunday at 12:28 AM Posted Sunday at 12:28 AM One plus, Keith had 2 hits. His average in now north of .230 and his OPS north of .700. Maybe he is about to have a streak Quote
GalagaGuy Posted Sunday at 12:30 AM Posted Sunday at 12:30 AM Skubal's K/BB ratio is insane. This is before today's game. Quote

Skubal is combining superb control with high velocity and a lot of change of speed. That's the combination that allows him to throw so many strikes that the batter can count on a strike, and still not be able to hit anything. He's similar to JV in that the change of speed is devastating, but also a bit different from a young JV in that JV usually could not paint corners with his fastball as Skubal can, but JV's FB was so live it was extremely hard to square up even when he left it middle, middle. IdahoBert Posted Sunday at 01:02 AM Posted Sunday at 01:02 AM I don’t remember any pitcher I ever paid close attention to who’s walked so few batters as Skubal. Quote

There's always Maddux who's barely humanlike in control but he didn't have the velocity of Skubal. It's rare to get 250+ k's and get under 50- 60 walks. There's a few off the top of my head but have to dig deeper to find the all- time guys. Quote
