oblong Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Hopefully they got things out of their system because the Cubs are good. This will be a huge test. People still think its smoke and mirrors with the Tigers despite their record over the last 100+ games. Quote

Yeah I think it's fair to question if the Tigers are a legit 105 win team like they have been playing like but I don't think it's fair to question if they are legit contenders. I think they have a big enough sample(94 win pace over last 250 games) to show that they are at the very least a legit playoff team which in turn makes them a contender. Quote
Shelton Posted June 6 Posted June 6 (edited) Yes, an Apple TV+ Skubal game against a blueblood. Suck it, boomers. Edited June 6 by Shelton Quote

IdahoBert Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I sure hope we don’t have to witness Tigers hitters being confused and stymied by a Cubs pitcher with a 5.72 ERA. I also hope the squirrel returns. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I sent Apple TV an update on my really wet driveway. They didn't seem too interested. 😅😅 A talking head on TV said how good the Cubs are against LH pitching. Yeah, but that wasn't against Skubal and his change up. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I was wondering why the air quality in Chicago last weekend was unhealthy even though it was raining and is unhealthy in Detroit right now even though it’s drizzling when usually rain improves the air, but I forgot about the Canadian fires. In Idaho, where I live we’ve been tortured by Canadian fire smoke for the last couple years, but those fires were directly north of us, and I guess the fires in Canada right now are more located further to the east. oblong Posted June 6 Posted June 6 yeah they were bad here two years ago. To the point where you shouldn't even be outside. You could smell it. Yesterday it was evident beyond the overcast. It wasn't cloud cover but smoke. They said the air alert would expire at noon but still in the high yellow/orange metric... meaning sensitive people may have issues. Quote

The Cubs are scoring a couple thousand runs a game. need to bring the bats so we can outrun them. Good thing for us Steele and Imanaga and Assad are all hurt. Too bad Ben Brown isn't starting tomorrow instead of today. Cade Horton vs Jack Flaherty is going to be a hoot. Quote
IdahoBert Posted June 6 Posted June 6 In Southeast Idaho where I live, between our own fires and the fires in Canada last year we had days of 300–400 air quality alerts and being old really bothered me. A few hours north of here in Spokane Washington they had readings of 500 which is as high as it goes. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I was at that Cards series, I vividly remember me and my friends chatting with birds fans infront of us and saying "maybe we'll see you in October" when they were leaving. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Both games I've gone to this year and they are wearing those atrocious City Connect jerseys. A shameless money grab for an ugly jersey. Playing one of the oldest franchises in baseball and we wear City Connects instead of the classic Old English D, what a bummer. Oh well, hopefully Skubal throws a no hitter. Quote
oblong Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I didn't like them at first but they've grown on me. They wear them every Friday. It's part of the deal. They appear to be popualr as I see the hats and jerseys all over. I, as a 51 year old ,may not be the demographic. My 24 year old son likes them. That's why they do it. And it's a league wide thing so I'm not going to single out the Tigers for a "money grab". They have to compete. Quote
IdahoBert Posted June 6 Posted June 6 At least we’ve never worn pajama shorts like the White Sox 1 1 Quote
Tiger337 Posted June 6 Posted June 6 (edited) I don't like any of the City Connect uniforms, but they don't get me angry. I reserve my irritation for more important things like constant gambling promotion and extra inning base runners. Edited June 6 by Tiger337 3 Quote
