It’s a matter of style. I prefer a gm who builds a strong farm and values prospects. I don’t want him to make a trade unless it’s a good value and I don’t want him making a trade that isn’t a good value simply because he feels pressure to fill a perceived hole.

Yes, maybe Harris does not want to part with his top prospects. Yet, we still have several (5-10 types, along with JHM, Jung, etc.) that could still bring someone back - if we can pull it off.

I am thinking one more move. Maybe one of Colorado's late inning RPs or even a surprise starter/position player. Depends on what Harris IS willing to move. If not, we are a bit better, but not a whole lot. All IMHO.

im not saying trade the top 3 guys and  Rainer.. but Lee, Anderson, Jung and Hamm have value that could get you something

Me too.  The most disappointing guys we didn’t get for me are Bednar and Duran.  I think they both went for fair value and would have filled areas of need beyond this year.  If we somehow get Jax and/or Ryan from the Twins  I won’t be sad we missed out on the others.

 

I’m good with who we got and what we gave up for them, and wouldn’t have wanted to do what the Padres did.

I remember a game on CBC channel 9 in Detroit...Tigers at Toronto. The Underwood brothers facing each other.

Only if the teams with players you want value those guys to the point they give up what you value. Teams aren’t required to consummate a trade just because the pieces “even out” on paper
