If they PPD it early, then it will not rain.  If they do not, then it will be touch and go but with it being thunderstorms they can't really play or start up.  it looks like it's going to be one of those things where it's clear in one spot but 4 miles over it's lightning.  We're going to have Florida weather today.

From what I just saw on channel 7 it appears that there is a window from 3-6 where it should be dry, I wonder if they would consider moving it up if that forecast stays true the next few hours?

A delay after it starts could ruin a Skubal start. Save Tarik for tomorrow and use a bullpen day. And if it's postponed, we could have a Skubal-Skenes match up in one of the games of a DH. That would be a hoot! 😆

Too bad today wasn't a day game. After an early afternoon storm, it's been clear for a couple/few hours. It's going to be really bad at gametime. At least, according to the WXYZ weather reports. We'll see...

You’d think they would play a straight doubleheader tomorrow if rained out tonight, but that’s a bit of a problem for a team that has to fly to Tampa for a series starting Friday night. One other possibility is a makeup game on Thursday after the All-Star game, since no one is scheduled to play that day and everyone (except the All-Stars, anyway) will have had a three day break. That would also probably have to be a day game since we have to fly out to Texas for a series starting that Friday night.

The flight to Florida from Detroit is what, 3 hours? We would be fine with any DH tomorrow. I would guess a straight DH, be done playing by 7 PM

It's doom and gloom according to the local weather but according to the weather channel app and radar it doesn't look as bad. As of now their radar doesn't show the storm hitting till 8:30 and it only lasts like 15 minutes.

There’s a bunch of smart people between the two teams and the league that know how to game out scenarios on when they can play. There’s nothing we will come up with that they haven’t considered.

I wonder if neither team wanted Skubal and Skenes to face each other. It would seem to increase each team‘s ability to get a split in the doubleheader.

From the Pirate's perspective, better one win than risk the sweep. From the Tigers perspective, as the home team that gets the gate, two games with a big draw is better than one, esp since tonight was probably already a sell out for Skubal, and with game one of the series in the W column, they are still good of they take 2 of 3.

Would be funny if Hinch put out that Skubal was going to pitch Game 2 and then Kelly responded by moving Skenes to Game 1.

They should be done by 8 PM. The 1st Tampa game will be a little rough, hopefully we don't use up our BP.
