If you're in a drought and need some rain just schedule the Tigers to play there and the Rain God's will open up the skies for you. Quote

Just like Bert was talking about the comic strip with the guy had a cloud following him. 1 Quote

kdog Posted Tuesday at 03:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:27 PM Carpenter placed on the IL; Sweeney recalled. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted Tuesday at 03:46 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:46 PM Looks like the game has a good chance of being delayed then there’s a two hour window where it’s not raining so hopefully they can get this one in. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Tuesday at 03:50 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:50 PM [Beck] Tigers will place Kerry Carpenter on 10-day injured list, manager A.J. Hinch told MLB Network Radio. Trey Sweeney, who was optioned to Toledo with Matt Vierling’s return last weekend, is being called back up. Hinch calls the Carpenter move “a very cautious decision. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Tuesday at 03:58 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:58 PM This means that he would miss the Washington and Cleveland road series as well as the Tampa Bay home series. Then he could be back for the home series with Seattle before the All-Star break. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted Tuesday at 04:38 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:38 PM ESPN says that Sunday Nights game was up 11% vs. the normal ratings and up 66% vs. a "comparable game"(i take it as non Yankee/red sox/Dodgers who probably boost the overall average). 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted Tuesday at 05:04 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:04 PM First pitch change ups fooled them. Nice, it works for Tommy, although with Skubal in a completely different manner. Quote

I'm amazed no games have to be made up with all the rain this team had seen. A few doubleheaders but no games that were canceled and have to be made up later. Quote

I don’t know how short the IL stints can be. Perhaps getting as much time to heal as possible is better than the whole “playing through it” thing which hasn’t worked. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Tuesday at 07:46 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:46 PM My iPhone weather app for the DC area is very discouraging. It says it’s supposed to rain almost nonstop until 11 AM tomorrow and there’s a flood warning for the DC area. My son has talked to me into watching Mike Flanagan‘s “Fall of the House of Usher” on Netflix, which he’s already watched and the first two episodes have been pretty compelling so that might end up being what I’m doing tonight. IdahoBert Posted Tuesday at 08:23 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:23 PM Oh well, I expected this. At least there’s only one trip to the West Coast remaining on the schedule at the end of August with the Athletics. Those games are really annoying for those of you in the East Otherwise there’s some games in the Central Time zone so there won’t be any annoying truly late games. Quote

Yeah, it's going to rain thru game time. Even if it clears up a bit, by the time they get the field ready, it's gonna rain again. Quote

You know what. 12 game lead (after Cleveland loses tonight). You have Greene-Meadows-Perez-Vierling for your Outfield. Let him heal up. Why even bother bringing him back before the All Star Game. We'll need him for the stretch run. When is Reese coming back? For one of the games tomorrow? It's about his turn, isn't it? Quote
