lordstanley Posted Wednesday at 12:31 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:31 AM 4 minutes ago, Tenacious D said: Seems random, or are they well known MAGA dudes? There's a write-up from the Defense Department about how Sawyer Gipson-Long has had 7 family members in the military and the Press Secretary "went on to express thanks from the Defense Department for the Tigers' 'unwavering support for service members and veterans,' noting visits by the team to military installations to boost troop morale, as well as the various charitable initiatives the Tigers organization engages in". So I suspect it's just part of the MLB-military relationship. https://www.defense.gov/News/News-Stories/Article/Article/4230809/detroit-tigers-players-family-members-staff-visit-pentagon/ Quote

GalagaGuy Posted Wednesday at 02:33 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:33 AM The Gribe lose another one. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted Wednesday at 02:38 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:38 AM Twins lost to the Marlins too. The Marlins have won their last eight games and are 9-1 in their last 10. They have recently swept the Giants and the Diamondbacks and they’re playing the Twins whom they’ve already defeated tonight so they have a good chance of continuing this streak. Quote

IdahoBert Posted Wednesday at 03:18 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:18 AM For the Tigers, left-hander Tyler Holton will start Game 1 and right-hander Jack Flaherty will start Game 2. The Nationals will counter with Trevor Williams and MacKenzie Gore, respectively. Quote
lordstanley Posted Wednesday at 06:31 AM Posted Wednesday at 06:31 AM 4 of the 6 worst records in the AL belong to AL Central teams now. Only the Athletics and Orioles are in that mix. Quote

This affords them the ability to say "Kerry, take a rest, heal up, we're fine", but I still worry. When the heck is Reese coming back? Quote

Montero pitched again last night when it was Olson's turn. He should be back any day now unless he had a setback in a bullpen session or something. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Wednesday at 10:21 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:21 AM I just now checked and although Kerry Carpenter is reported to be on the 10 day disabled list he is still listed as active on the 25 man roster. Also, no additional pitchers are yet reported to have been added for the double header. Quote

IdahoBert Posted Wednesday at 11:17 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:17 AM MacKenzie Gore is pretty good. Aside from allowing six runs recently to the Dodgers he’s been striking out a ton of guys and shutting out teams. If Jack keeps getting behind in the count, the second game could be uncomfortable. romad1 Posted Wednesday at 11:27 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:27 AM I walked out of my house into a steady rain. I sure hope they remembered to put the tarp down at Nats Park. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted Wednesday at 11:44 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:44 AM It's getting to the point where we're gonna have to start scoreboard watching by looking at the AL East leaders and Astros scores for the 1st round bye. The Central teams are quickly becoming irrelevant at this moment. Quote

IdahoBert Posted Wednesday at 12:03 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:03 PM Since the Dodgers played yesterday and they won, giving them one win more than the Tigers, they technically have World Series home-field advantage. Quote

I had the feeling that might be the case, but I just thought this stuff was automatic. Thx. I suppose there’s issues of service time and everything else involved in this too. Quote
