IdahoBert Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Chase Lee’s W/L is 4-0 in only 30.2 innings of work. Quote
lordstanley Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Top seven AL teams all won today: Detroit, Houston, Toronto, NY Yankees, Tampa, Seattle, Boston. But LA Dodgers’ loss means the Tigers are back alone in 1st place for the MLB lead, by a game over the Dodgers and 1.5 games over Houston. Every other team in both leagues is 3 or more games behind the Tigers. Quote

Of course I’m fine with game day and radio in all honesty. Still it bugs me. Same for me. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Since Scoob pitched today, he is scheduled to pitch Friday, which is an Apple TV game of the evening against the Mariners. If he pitches in the All-Star game it would be on his 4th rather than his 5th day. Is this advisable? Quote

Arlington Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I had a feeling that the final score wouldn't reflect the pitching duel that led up to it. Glad it was the Tigers who broke out Quote

holygoat Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I'd be surprised if Skub went more than a single inning. Quote

casimir Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago My Cleveland sports fan father-in-law borrowed my hedge trimmer the other day. Should I text him to ask him if he needs to borrow a broom as well? 1 1 Quote

I'm sure he has a few gloves at his disposal and wondered if he might also have a 1Bdude's mitt just in case. Quote

gehringer_2 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Speaking of Cobb, he was supposed to throw a BP this week. Not sure how the Tigers are finesseing this or if the transactions page is just inacurate (not unlikely) but his rehab assignment started May 30, which means it has to be up by now unless he was put back on IL sometime after his June 11 appearance for the Hens. Yeah, I guess going on three days or four days rest isn’t going to kill them. I suppose over half the pitchers are operating under conditions of mild duress anyway. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I haven’t really watched the All-Star game in a long time but the idea that we have three starters in the lineup is exciting, finally. Quote

We drove through Ohio (don't recommend) and all the peeps at the Turnpike rest area where we got gas at were filled with people who had just left the game and were many, many Detroit Tiger fans in a happy mood and much fewer Guardian fans realizing that turmoil and despair are their fate this season. Turmoil and despair that’s something that I am really familiar with these last few years. Of course, unlike Cleveland which last won a World Series in 1948 we’ve won a whole two of them since then! Then there is the despair of sports which is supposed to give us jolts of joy that mere life does not. I don't care that you got to hold your newly first born above your head on a mountain, our sports team didn't win! Quote
papalawrence Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Boyd made the NL all-star game. Good for him! Quote
oblong Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I had to make a run to the market up the street for dinner. I waited until McKinstry scored the tying run. When I got in my car the inning was already over, I heard Cleveland hit a lead off double, went into the store, came back out and heard Dan say "extra innings". Then as i pulled intio my driveway Sweeney hit the HR. A quick trip to pick up some steak bites made the day so much better. 1 1 Quote
lordstanley Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Another sad broadcaster of an opposing team. These are almost as good as listening to Dickerson calls of big moments. Quote
Hongbit Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Tom Hamilton has the single best voice to call a baseball game of anyone alive. So smooth and easy. Quote
