RandyMarsh Posted Saturday at 06:49 PM Posted Saturday at 06:49 PM Teslaa is going to be a true weapon for the Lions, if there is one thing they lacked is that receiver that can go up and get 50/50 balls and Teslaa appears to have the ability to do just that. Quote

Jason_R Posted Saturday at 08:01 PM Posted Saturday at 08:01 PM I must have misheard this, but I thought Lomas Brown just said “that was an MA, what I call a mental error.” Quote
Jason_R Posted Saturday at 08:19 PM Posted Saturday at 08:19 PM Hooker may have sealed his fate with that last pass. Yes, great play by the linebacker, but you cannot throw that ball. Quote
Adullin Posted Saturday at 08:21 PM Posted Saturday at 08:21 PM What a disappointing ending. What a horrible pass to throw. Quote

We all know that is when NFL players shine. What they do when the lights are not on, when they aren't keeping score. :--) He's been not good at the on-field part for quite some time now. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted Saturday at 10:42 PM Posted Saturday at 10:42 PM If Hooker never got injured that year he likely would've been a 1st round pick, I don't blame the Lions for taking a chance with him but the reason I bring that up is that he looks like just another example of how underrated things like pocket awareness, reading defense and pure accuracy(not just completion % but putting balls in the right spots with right velo and touch) are when evaluating and drafting QBs. Mr.TaterSalad Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM The Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby situations were always more speculative than anything. The Trey Hendrickson trade rumors it seems have more legs because this has been persistent all offseason. I would of course make the trade and work on making it work financially over the next 3 years or so. I presume he'll get a 3 to 4 year deal with a large cap number in his new contract. Once McNeill returns, assuming Hutch bounces right back to form, and then adding Hendrickson to the mix gives you the chance to potentially have the best defense in the league to go alongside the top scoring offense. We won't be making this trade though because Brad Holmes has a concrete plan in place that he's sticking to and ultimately that's fine because it's gotten us this far. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted yesterday at 12:53 AM Posted yesterday at 12:53 AM There was a good amount of buzz around this kid in camp too and now he's a Levi, where we just have to wait and see. Quote

Hutch will have the higher dollar amount in his contract overall because I think he'll get more term than Hendrickson I think Hendrickson gets a 3 year contract, whereas Hutch gets a 4 to 5 year deal. Some teams might sign Hutch for a 6th or 7th year, but that simply isn't Brad Holmes' standard. I could see Hendrickson getting similar to what Maxx Crosby got from the Raiders. Crosby got 3 years and $106.5 million with a $91 million guaranteed and I Hendrickson could be right around that number and term. Quote

I don't see the Lions cutting Hooker. I wouldn't be shocked if it happened, but I don't see it unless some good backup QB becomes available. After that last game Hooker is a distant 3rd on the depth chart, but what other options are out there? Unless the Lions decide to not carry a 3rd QB, Hooker is probably better than all the other options because: He's relatively cheap He knows the offense If some "better than adequate" backup QB gets cut from a different team and the Lions are able to land him, then I could see Hooker being cut. But I also don't see that as a likely thing to happen so Hooker'll be here as the 3rd emergency guy for 2025. Now after this season? I expect him to be cut barring a major turn around in practice during the year. Quote
RedRamage Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Who do I need to "talk" to to make Benetti our play-by-play guy for the Lions during the regular season?? I think I enjoyed the broadcast more than the product on the field. Quote

The argument for cutting Hooker I think would go something like this: 1) Cut him. As the last cut. 2) No team is going to add him after the last cuts (this obviously is a guess/ the biggest risk) 3) We can put him on the Practice Squad and try to "coach him up"/ develop him there. 4) If we do NOT cut him then we have to cut: ________ ___________ . Personally, if the decision were to cut either Hendon Hooker or Jackson Meeks (just as an example of the last cut choice...), I'd rather keep Meeks. If we can get Hooker over to the Practice Squad where the coaches can work on him/ with him... That's what I want to do. It's a risk... should we attempt it...? Just my 2 cents. Quote
