Sports_Freak Posted Monday at 01:05 AM Posted Monday at 01:05 AM Some games ya just have to tip your hat to a great pitching performance. Sanchez looks like a very strong contender for a Cy Young Award. Quote
romad1 Posted Monday at 01:07 AM Posted Monday at 01:07 AM This one has definitely been filled with defensive gems. Quote
TP_Fan Posted Monday at 01:10 AM Posted Monday at 01:10 AM The bullpen will be the be if this team. They are so awful. Every single one of them. Holton and Vest cannot get through an outing without giving up a run. Or multiple runs. Absolutely awful. Quote

Zero adjustments, just swinging at the first pitch regardless. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Monday at 01:11 AM Posted Monday at 01:11 AM Giving up a home run to Kyle Schwarber is nothing to be ashamed of. Not scoring any runs off of Sanchez is nothing to be ashamed of. The Phillies are a good team and they are at home where they are even better. Winning one game was probably the best we could expect. There’s still the ninth, but I’m not holding my breath. Quote
TP_Fan Posted Monday at 01:18 AM Posted Monday at 01:18 AM Torkelson is just uninterested in seeing pitches. He is has seen about 8 pitches this entire series. It’s unreal. Every single at bat is a one pitch out for him. Grow up dude. Quote
TP_Fan Posted Monday at 01:19 AM Posted Monday at 01:19 AM Greene swings through everything. He has been really bad for a minute. Quote
TP_Fan Posted Monday at 01:20 AM Posted Monday at 01:20 AM That was a dreadful Performance by the hitters tonight. They get over powered so easily. So many unprofessional at bats. 96 pitches is all the tigers saw. Dreadful. 1 Quote
Tiger337 Posted Monday at 01:21 AM Posted Monday at 01:21 AM Wow, TP_Fan is back with his optimistic commentary of the Tigers. I missed you man. 1 Quote

Grow up dude. the guy has two 100+ EVs good for 2/4 against one of the best pitchers in the league and he's the one you are complaining about? 4 2 Quote

kdog Posted Monday at 01:26 AM Posted Monday at 01:26 AM Riley Greene has no median results. He is either on fire or can't make contact...great game defensively. Quote

Having said that, this is a totally knee jerk take. Trying to work the count on Sanchez - especially tonight - is a fools errand. You’d be behind in the count every at bat. Every well struck ball by the Tigers was on 1st or 2nd pitch. Overused phrase, but applies tonight3 just tip your cap and move on. 2 Quote

So if Morton can give 5-6 innings with, say, 2 runs then that might be a satisfactory outcome win or lose, because it would indicate he might make a real contribution the rest of the way. Maybe I’m too harsh about the extremes, I don’t know. I’ve mentioned it before, I wonder if his severe upper cut makes him more prone to prolonged slumps and if it will be a hindrance as he ages.
