Motor City Sonics Posted Monday at 01:45 AM Posted Monday at 01:45 AM No way Brian Daboll survives. Giants have a bye week. Second huge lead blown in the 4th quarter. The Giants are at their bye week. I bet they fire Daboll tomorrow and make Shane Bowen the Interim. Quote
Jason_R Posted Monday at 01:53 AM Posted Monday at 01:53 AM Is anyone surprised that the Steelers are in a 3-2 football game? Aa-Rod looked bumbling on that play. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted Monday at 04:24 AM Posted Monday at 04:24 AM (edited) HOT SEAT RANKING (since, short of something behavioral, the Packers and Eagles coaches have nice, cool seats). 1. Brian Daboll, Giants - Yep, that 1 in 60,000 thing and a bye week. It happens tomorrow morning 11/11. And it started out so great, too. 2. Kevin Stefanski, Browns - He's a great coach, coaching a poorly-run organization. I hope he gets another shot with a well-run team. Will Jim Schwartz get a chance to be an Interim Head Coach? My Lions memory goes back to about 1975 and no Lions Head Coach has ever Head Coached again in the NFL. 3. Raheem Morris, Falcons - Try to figure out the Falcons. Morris sure hasn't. 4. Mike McDaniel, Dolphins - They've been a lot better recently, but the Dolphins will have a new GM who will want his own guy. He probably survives the season 5. Sean McDermott, Bills. Feels like the window is closing. So inconsistent. Squandering a future HOF QB. I would love to see Kevin Stefanski get a crack at a team as good as the Bills. The fins dominated them. 6. Jonathan Gannon, Cardinals. Just a forgettable franchise. They had one miraculous run in my lifetime and that was that. Lurking just outside the room - Zack Taylor, Bengals, Pete Carroll, Raiders Edited Monday at 04:26 AM by Motor City Sonics Quote
Sports_Freak Posted Monday at 01:17 PM Posted Monday at 01:17 PM Anyone see the Vikings game? They had something like 9 false starts...at home. I've never seen anything like it. Quote

You just never know what's going on with someone. How sad. First thought that comes to me is wondering how many concussions he had in college. He was from Grand Rapids. Yeah, it's hard to wrap my head around it. My only thought was that something happened and he thought he was in so much trouble with the police chasing him that he didn't figure there was any way out. The question is what was the trouble? Was it real? And if so... was it really that bad? Or was it more "imaginary," potentially brought on by mental issues? And if so, where those mental issues exasperated by concussion/head injuries? I've speculated in the past that I wonder how much longer football as we know it will exists. I could easily see in 10 or 20 years that there are radical changes or the whole sport itself mostly disappears. Quote

I love how it censors an actual first name. LOL I forgot about that. So, once in 50 years. I think Schwartz is going to get his chance. And as of 10:56, I can't believe Daboll is still there Quote

They've made some advances in the helmet tech - I don't know if that will be enough to make a big change or not. Between that and the rules my impression is we are seeing fewer guys going to the concussion tent than when they first put them up. Edited Monday at 04:02 PM by gehringer_2 Quote

Between that and the rules my impression is we are seeing fewer guys going to the concussion tent than when they first put them up. I also think they are being much more open about concussions being an issue AND trying to have stricter rules for dealing with them. That will help, obviously, but there's no real way to eliminate concussions or damage from repeated collisions. I could foresee an instance where someone sues the NFL or the NCAA or a school. Whether they should win or not is obviously very much up for debate, but I could foresee a situation where they win big. If that happens I don't think it'd be too long before others started suing as well... which could lead to schools just shutting down football programs. If the potential liability starts to outweigh the financial benefit it might happen. I certainly hope it doesn't and I hope I'm just speculating way outside of reality. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted Monday at 06:23 PM Posted Monday at 06:23 PM I would've waited until after the season. The Giants are losing but Dart was developing nicely. Start fresh next year. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted Monday at 06:29 PM Posted Monday at 06:29 PM It seemed like he was trying to get Dart killed with all the designed runs. Plus he tried to interfere with Dart getting evaluated for a concussion the other week, I felt like Daboll was doing whatever he could to keep his job not what was best for the team. Quote
