Hey, Tim's just presuming innocent until the guy is proven guilty. After all Pearce's Attorney said: "Mr. Pearce maintains his innocence and urges the public to understand that while allegations have the power to shape a narrative, that it is hardly the full, complete story. We look forward to vigorously defending our client and remain confident that he will continue contributing positively to both his team and the community he serves so well." So, ya know... don't rush to conclusions!! Quote

I would like to think the damage done by WCF and Martha (her to a lesser extent) is worn off this organization. I think at one point in time, players would have voted us as the worst ownership in the league given that you had hall of fame players retired early. I would venture to guess players around the league view Sheila, Rod, and Brad favorably. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted February 13 Posted February 13 The Lions ranked 9th and have been in the upper half. There is a difference between team success and how the ownership treats the players. WCF was loyal to a fault. He stuck with guys like Matt Millen way too long. He paid him well and was hands off. I read a story about WCF and Reggie Brown. After Brown got injured and couldn't play again, WCF got him into a program with Ford Motor Company and set him up with his own dealerships. Brown had become a successful dealership owner in Texas. I always got the impression that WCF took care of his people but he expected that loyalty back. When Barry Sanders retired early, he wasn't reciprocating the loyalty. That's why WCF went after his signing bonus. Quote

Everyone knows who the good owners and bad owners are and it's who we expected. But if the NFL's allegations are true (which they are claiming is supported by the evidence presented), the union was cherry picking to push a narrative. So if "everyone knows" that Owner A is a putz and they (that is the union) wants to further that idea, they'll cherry pick the player comments that support it. And if everyone knows that Owner B is a good person and again they want to prop up that idea, they can cherry pick what fits that story. In short: The NFL was saying the union was being fair and presenting all the data, just the data they wanted to present. Again, if true, I could see how the NFL wouldn't like that. There's certainly the ability for the union to extort certain things from certain owners if they really were being nefarious with this stuff. On the other hand I also think the NFL locked on to this bit because it paints the union's actions in a bad light. I don't, for a second, think the NFL would have been fine with the report cards if the union has just released all data. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I don’t think people realize Chicago borders Indiana. However, NW Indiana is not where I would place a multi billion dollar stadium. That would be like building a stadium downriver. Quote

The Santa Clara 49ers are like 45 miles from San Francisco. The Arlington Cowboys are about 20 miles from Dallas. The Hammond Bears would be about 20-25 miles from Chicago. It's more the ineptitude of it for me. The Bears and Illinois are a bad management match made in heaven. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago If Gary, IN can have a football team than Quebec damn well can handle an NHL team. I cannot believe the NFL, Roger Goodell, and NFL Owners would allow Chicago to lose a team and Gary, IN to gain a team. Quote

That said, I'm really curious where the potential site is. Looks like there's a lot of industrial area around there. Quote

I'm guessing not many bars around. Quote
