Wait... three game ending FG blocks. At the same exact time? Has this ever happened before?

Cleveland blocks GW FG attempt then comes back with its own for a win.

Philly blocks GW FG for scoop, score, and win.

Now the Jets block GW FG for scoop, score, and lead.

Unbelievable.

I'm so glad the Packers lost, they started 2-0 and people were acting like they were the 85 bears or 07 Patriots. So annoying.

It could end up being a big game too. Cleveland is a common opponent.

If the Lions can win on Thanksgiving and there is ultimately a tie in the standings, common opponents would be the second tiebreaker after divisional record.

NFL Hot Seat

ON FIRE
1. Brian Dabboll (18-35-1): I don't think it's all his fault, but he's not helping either. He'll probably last the season, but there is no guarantee. Maybe he'll be fired after the Giants lose by 60 in Ford Field.
2. Mike McDaniel (28-26): His team has given up on him. I'd love to have him on the Lions staff as an offensive mind, but that Dolphins team is just so soft. I don't see him surviving into next season. The Dolphins need to blow it up and rebuild.

RED HOT
3. Raheem Morris (13-18): Live by the 1st round QB, die by the 1st round QB. You can't lose 30-0 to the Panthers, bench your 1st round QB in the process, and not rise in these rankings.
4. Brian Callahan (3-17): The record speaks for itself. If he can't turn things around this season, and make Cam Ward look like an NFL QB, I don't think he'll get a second mulligan season.

HOT
5. Zac Taylor (48-53-1): This is tough, but I don't think he gets forgiveness for Burrow's injury again, especially if they go down like they did today again. The defense is atrocious, and the offensive line is bad. Cincy will always love Taylor for the magical run a few years back, but this could be a landing spot for Brian Flores.
6. Kevin Stefanski (41-46): Today helps, but I don't see the year-end evaluation looking good. The Browns offense is terrible, and while that is mostly the fault of ownership and front office gross mismanagement with the Watson trade and deal, I'm not sure they'll keep Stefanski around for the rebuild.

WARM
7. Dave Canales (6-14): I'm not sure the long-term vision of the Panthers, but today helps Canales more than Stefanski. If he can make the Panthers competitive this year, he's safe.
8. Shane Steichen (20-17): He's 3-0 this year so everyone is happy for now, but if he misses the playoffs I wouldn't be surprised if the Colts make a move.
9. Jonathan Gannon (14-23): Like Steichen, everyone is content in Glendale with them at 2-1. But if he can't make the playoffs in year three, there will be discussions about whether he is the right guy.

WARMING
10. Kellen Moore (0-3): If there's a one-and-done out there this year, I think it's Moore. It's not even his fault, the Saints have an atrocious roster. But they're heading squarely towards 2-15 or worse, and that's hard to do without losing a locker room.

I'm starting to wonder about Mike Tomlin's job. While they still have a winning record each of the last umpteen years, it seems like they're stuck in neutral. The front office may be more at blame here, but the coach usually goes first or they go in tandem.

The failure to find a decent long term QB option is definitely a problem (Yes I'm anti Rodgers, that seems like a bad Art Rooney move)

We await when Jordan Love goes to the NY Jets as the "savior."

Based on how Russell played yesterday - if Daboll wants any chance at keeping his job he needs to make a move there.  But the move is a rookie and judging a rookie on his preseason is foolish.  The other option is Jameis Winston.

The Giants haven't been as much of a pushover as we thought going into the season.   The 21-6 loss to DC and the 22-9 loss to KC were closer games than the score.

You know how the combo of a Coach & QB can be great.   I think we're learning that with Belichick & Brady, it looks like it was really Brady driving that success and I am starting to think that Russ' success may have been linked to Pete Carroll as much as anything. But there are two other things that I think of with Russ.  #1 - the age thing.....he just doesn't have it anymore and #2 the hunger thing.  He just doesn't seem all that hungry anymore.    He should have walked away after that first season in Denver.

I feel bad for Stefanski.  I think he's a really good coach who got Watsoned.    Baker was a good QB for them and his one mediocre season he was playing hurt the whole time.   They were so foolish to go after that criminal with all that baggage.   Screwed themselves.

Coach wise.  Yep, Daboll and McDaniel are certainly at the top, but I have to be honest here - I think it should be Raheem Morris.  There is no way you should ever lose 30-0 to Carolina, even though Carolina is an improving team.    We'll see how they respond against their former coach Quinn against DC.  If they get slammed at home in that game with a bye week to follow.   The Coordinators are Zac Robinson as OC and Jeff Ulbrich as DC.  Can you imagine Ulbrich being an Interim HC two years in a row (and after that stunt his son pulled at the draft)?.    There is a lot of talent in ATL, they should be challenging for the division by now.

In Minnesota it looks like Carson Wentz is the savior -- for now.   The JJ McCarthy thing is interesting.  I never thought he was brilliant at Michigan.  He had a great O-Line.  I seem to remember him missing a lot of throws.  I think he could be good, but it feels like they're giving up on him already and that's kind of stupid    In college, even the best team you play has maybe 3 legit NFL players on their defense.   In the NFL they're as good as that.  It's a big leap.  Gotta give him a little time.

Based on yesterday's Bears-Cowboys game -  the Lions must be incredibly good (making the Bears look so bad) and the Giants must be dog vomit (losing to the Cowboys).

Oh, and Kellen Moore.   After the play calling at the end of that 49ers/Cowboys game - where he's calling QB runs with the clock running out - I can't believe anyone considered hiring him as an HC.

I would take McCarthy as a back up to Goff to learn from in a heartbeat. He has great leadership skills and fire to be good. He also is athletic and has very good arm strength.

I think he needs a mentor for a few years to hone his throwing mechanics from an accuracy standpoint and decision making.
