I really enjoyed that movie.

I never heard of it, but a buddy gave me a CD so I spun it up and watched it last night. Covers all the angles from Ford Motor Company to the racing world, and the people who participate. I thought it was well done, and with Bales and Damon chances are it will be pretty good.

Mid 60s, muscle car era. It's easy to make them go fast, but in the road course environment they also have to brake.  And go 200 mph.

I did some research to see how accurate the move was to real life.  One story I ran across was a guy who wanted to buy a GT40 at the local Ford dealer.  He told the dealer he didn't want the 289.  He wanted the 427.  OK, so he test drove it, scared the shit out of him, and once back to the dealer said, "maybe I should get the 289.

That was the 289.

I want to say I find it interesting that two drivers of the same team can be so consistently first and second relative to each, but it certainly makes sense that driver skill matters. What I love about this sport is that the engineering seems to far outweigh the driver skill.

I would like to see merc figure out their shit, and maybe they are, if only to get a real sense of how good Russell and Hamilton are relative to each other when driving a top tier car. It could be likely that Russell is better driving the junk but Lewis will be better once the car is better.

Is George Russell challenging for the world championship if they were racing under last year’s regs?

This year has been pretty fun, but I’m already looking forward to next year after everyone catches up to the baseline.

What does the driver championship race look like today if max simply finished those two races in the position he was in?

It’s really hard to tell.  Are the 2 cars that different? Is Lewis checked out still from last seasons nightmare? Did he not prep for the season like he normally does? Is George one of the next great drivers?    I have no idea if any of these are true or not.   I expect they will figure a few things out shortly.  If they can’t before the summer break, they will stop trying and put all effort into improving the 2023 car.
