The only thing the same is the possibility of getting thrown out. These guys have been aggressive all season long, we led MLB going first to third.

Unmm...scoring is the same as being on 3rd still needing, most likely, a base hit to score?  Any hit to the outfield should score a guy from 2nd with 2 outs almost everytime.

Never make the final out at third.

Trying to score and going to third are not even close to the same.

You also had Baez going to 2nd.  If the throw is even slightly off, or his right hand hits the bag, or replay doesn't see conclusive evidence (which I think should have been the case) 2 are in scoring position, and even a wild pitch scores 1 of them (which we've seen Naylor already not block well) Like MichiganCardinal said, if Dingler doesn't slow down, he scores before the play at 3rd.

IMHO, You need to look at this situation where a single run is most likely the difference in the ballgame. Whether it’s the 9th inning or not.   It’s been that way with most of these games with Cleveland.   I think you have to play it like a one run game.  That being considered, the risk didnt outweigh the reward.

They completely changed their philosophy on sacrifice yesterday and it paid off because the situation called for it.   I think the same should’ve been true today as the situation called for it.

Right, the Tigers took a 100% sure thing (the 2nd run) and put it on the table risking  a marginally better chance of scoring an additional run than if the runner had stopped at 2nd. Meadows has only a 30% chance of even getting on base.

Instead he's out and they have no chance to drive him in from 2nd base and they lost a run.  It's a bad play with 2 outs regardless of what happens if it's a bang-bang play.

Greene gonna hit into a DP on the first pitch and then slowly walk away looking over his shoulder with that stupid look on his face.

Edit:  Or maybe not....lol
