PHONE CALL AT 12:48 LAST NIGHT.    Roger Goodell to Ramon George, NFL Head Of Officials

ROG:  Ramon?

RAMON:  Yeah?

ROG: What the **** was that tonight?

RAMON: We tried

ROG: NOT HARD ENOUGH!

RAMON:  Hey, we gave KC the pic without calling the PI, like you said

ROG:  YOU DIDN'T BLOW THE WHISTLE ON THE STUMBLE PLAY

RAMON: Nobody touched Trevor

ROG: I.........DON'T........CARE.    You realize that they are 2-3 now, right?    They are not in a playoff position now.   If Taylor isn't at the Super Bowl, you're finished.

RAMON:  But the Jaguars were just better last ni..

ROG: I DON'T CARE - DID YOU SEE HER SALES THIS PAST WEEKEND?    WE NEED HER AT THE SUPER BOWL,  SHE'S NOT GOING IF HER HUSBAND ISN'T THERE

RAMON:   Look, I said, we tried

ROG:  We'll try better next Sunday night.    Nobody wants the ****ing Lions in the Super Bowl,  We need Taylor there.   You'd better make sure the Chiefs win that game next week.

Guys, prepared to be very angry next Sunday night.  That game is going to be so slanted.  Like so many of those Packers games in the past.   The NFL needs Taylor at the Super Bowl.  Lions are going to get boned by several calls next week.    Just be ready for it.

Last time I remember the Lions being the unanimous #1 in the power rankings they got spanked by the Ravens a few years back. I don’t expect the same for the Chiefs, but I do think they’ll be desperate to not go to 2-4.

When was the last time the Chiefs played in Detroit?

September 2019, when Patricia started 2-0-1 and we thought he might be good. Lost to the Chiefs 34-30 and never looked back, winning only one more game the rest of the way.

Just seems a little bias that we are always the road team...

does seem odd. OTOH, in both baseball and football, replay has cut down on home field advantage from what it used to be.

What? You don't think having Taylor Swift in the house gives them a clear advantage?

Lions were unanimous #1 a lot last year.

Lions play at Baltimore, Kansas City, Washington, Cincinnati and Philadelphia. It's just too much. Would 3-2 be acceptable? That's a tough schedule even if Baltimore stinks this season and Burrows is hurt.

After the win over the Ravens, beat KC and they can look at the game at Philly as playing with house money.

I’m not so sure. The Lions and Eagles could be vying for playoff seeding. Losing to the Eagles would give them the tiebreaker. It would also be a conference loss for other tiebreakers.

Yeah, if you're gonna pick one to win and one to lose, pick the Philly game to win. Of course it doesn't work that way but we can dream right?

I'm pretty confident through five games that the Lions will be judged not by October but by January.

They need to play it smart with these injuries, and with Decker's longevity. We need to be entering the New Year at or near 100%, and we need to be ready to hit an on-ramp in wildcard weekend, whether we are playing or waiting.

Whether we enter at 11-6 or 16-1, those 3-4 games in January to hopefully February will define this season.
