A case based solely upon the word of now-convicted felons who knew all along that TA was the big fish NFL player is not a slam dunk case by any stretch of the imagination. TA will have the best lawyers money can buy, who will tear those felon-witnesses to shreds on the stand. These are crooked cases from the jump when people with dirty hands throw others under the bus to save their own ass. A lot of them are telling the truth, but plenty will say what they think wants to be heard to save themselves a few years prison time.

Will a jury of his peers convict him? Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know. Cell phone records would ostensibly paint a picture of some sort here aside from the testimony.

But we are at least a year away from a trial. If all they have is testimony of co-conspirators, he'll almost certainly be granted bond pending trial. And if he is, I bet he plays this season for the Detroit Lions.

yes.  all true.

but where there is smoke there is usually fire.

Either injuries or suspensions or just lack of talent I am not sure I have ever seen a strong secondary for the Lions. Can anyone think of the last time when the secondary as a whole was a strength of this team?

I don’t know if it was a strength but there were some decent secondary’s under. Caldwell with Slay and Quinn and Diggs. Even 2014 with Chris Houston.

He better hope they can’t recover the FaceTime of him watching and telling the guys what to do.  He’s F’d if that exists.

The GroupMe messages are likely to play a role as well I would think.

We may know more this afternoon when he gets arraigned. I’m assuming the government will seek no bond, but he’s got a good argument to get a bond.

How did Arnold make it through Detroit's "no turds" screening process?

It seems like if there is catostrophic news regarding injury or off the field stuff lately it will be the secondary. Okudah, Tracy Walker and Branch tear achilles, Kerby has a degenerative knee, and Cam Sutton and Arnold have the law after them.

So when can the Lions cut Arnold without eating the dead cap costs?  If he's denied bail on Monday, you can't tell me the Lions would be penalized for cutting him loose.

So, from what I have gathered, they were texting back and forth and even live streaming some of this?     how stupid can you be?   I guess  that generation can't do anything without putting it online, right?

I don't know if he grew up poor but he probably grew up around people who always had to show how hard they are.   But he made it out of that.  He took his talent and worked his tail off to get all the way to the NFL - but he kep having to show how hard he was.  Couldn't shake that.    It's so stupid.    Throwing potentially $25 million or more away over $250,000 of stuff being stolen.  Replaceable stuff.    All to show how hard he is.        I can understand why he's suicidal.     Dude, this ain't The Wire - you're a millionaire - you beat the system.  You made it.    Now it's over.   He'll be lucky to breathe another free breath - and if he ever does get out - he's gonna be in his 50's.

I know the league has rookies take "classes" on how to deal with their sudden wealth and I don;'t know if they tell them that you don't have to live the street life anymore

Bond is set at $1MM, which I assume he can afford. He has to surrender his passport.

Prosecutor asked for a GPS tether, which was denied citing his work as an NFL player. Another win for the defense. He's on home confinement with the exception of work though. So he can be a Detroit Lion this season if the Detroit Lions and NFL allow it.

I know that our justice system is based around innocent, until proven guilty. I understand Arnold has been convicted of nothing by a jury of his peers at this point. But the league as a whole, Commissioner Goodell, the Lions organization, Brad, and Dan would all be hypocrites letting him practice, let alone play. Terrion Arnold allegedly attempts to kidnap and assaults a guy and it could simply be a wait and see approach, while letting him play. I feel doing that would have this organization, front office, and coaching staff would lose all credibility when it comes to wanting high character, football loving guys on their team. As talented as Arnold may be, he cannot be allowed to play until this matter is resolved. He wasn't just accused of being Josh Gordon and smoking a few joints. He was accused of multiple, violent, heinous crimes. Until and unless he is cleared, he shouldn't be practicing or playing.
