Why you happy?  They’re basically your party today.  just a different religion.  But same back ass ideals.

The leaders here deserve, and hopefully will get, the same fate.

Nothing against the people of Iran and their struggle for freedom, but when people can't drive around the suburbs of Minneapolis St Paul without a nonzero chance of being accosted by our own government, it's a little hard to divide one's attention

And it's certainly hard for me to take our own government's commitment to "democracy" and "freedom" seriously. Particularly as events in the Cities unfold and as they have endorsed the rump of Nicolas Maduro's government to stay in power after his ouster.

LOL - not sure if that doesn't do more harm than good, but who knows?

Is there even such a guy? Do a google search for "irgc colonel mahdi rahimi" and all that comes up are social media posts on X, Reddit, Facebook, and something called "Yeshiva World News", which was "established in 2003 by Judah Eckstein as a news aggregation blog." It is "[b]ased in Monsey, New York" and staffed with "freelance contributors".

I'm putting my early money on "there's no such guy".

There was a real guy named Mehdi Rahimi, a name that is suspiciously close enough to ting a bell for people who are not actually close to Iranian affairs.

The image shows Gholamhossein Gheybparvar, a senior officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). - google image search

but looking at various pics I'm not certain that's good ID either.
