I don't think it was a completely pointless. A lot of wealthy evil people used the top of their evil game to get a lot more wealthy. Which is probably why nukes didn't end up being used after all: there's no money in dropping nukes. All that would do is destroy a wealth of resources controlled by Iran.

That's a laugh. I'd take any Chicago Priest in a test of wills with Trump.

Yeah I go with Chicago over anyone… except those cops in The Fugitive.  “She was more rich”.

Trump’s schtick depends on acolytes with memories like goldfish and who get their information only from him. Unfortunately there are many millions of those, and they have votes.

I'm of the view that people get conditioned to "retconning" in all the video entertainment they consume, and the normalization of inconsistency  in the video worlds they consume becomes operant conditioning to the way they process reality.

Not to mention consuming too much passive video entertainment appears to correlate with brain rot in general.

The wife belongs to the Freedom from Religion Foundation.  I am of the opinion that religion is an essential glue for society and love the positive benefits for civilization, but I generally dislike violations of the 1st amendment.   So, she's constantly pointing out things from the FFRF newspaper she gets each week.

Holy crap, the military under Kegbreath is less-than-subtle about some lunatic narratives about the Iran war being an accelerationalist effort to speed up Jesus return.

I fondly remember a quote from a keynote speaker for the annual conference of the Pittsburgh, Pa Presbytery. He gave the speech as a sermon to the church we attended over 60 years ago.

"I wanted to begin my speech with "My fellow Racketeers"...

And that's why I am the way that I am...However I have known a few Pastors in my life that I believe truly heard the call..
