So in the long run, whatever short term advantage Iran gains will be a declining asset. Of course the 'long run' leaves Iran a lot of time to be a PITA Quote

And I agree with those positive takes. The movement away from oil has already been happening at an advanced pace in Asia and Europe (and Canada but... NOT in Trump's Neanderthalic America because... reasons...). This (Iran situation) does nothing but add importance and speed to the move away from oil. As to the second point, hilariously, Israel has offered the Negev desert as a safe pipeline transit-way from the ME to the Mediterranean bypassing both the Strait of Hormuz and the now-treacherous Yemeni coastline/ Red Sea chokepoint. I mean, how would the ME get oil TO Israel...? And Israel would still need to protect any overland routes from Iranian or Yemeni or Hamas or Hezbollah malfeasance... Just sort of... funny... that they even offered. But yes, everyone is searching for Iran/Yemeni (Houthi) bypass options as fast as they can. It may make Caucasus/ Caspian/ Turkish routes more advantageous for Kurdish/ Azerbaijani/ similar countries oil. Still, as you've mentioned, there will be lots of pain in the meantime. Quote

You can’t lead every newscast with every ridiculous and insulting thing he says— there are simply not enough hours in a day to do so. They have to draw a line somewhere.
