Deleterious Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Why not throw Huerter in when you are shooting 20% from three? Whats up with him? 1 Quote
GalagaGuy Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Ain't gonna win many games when Cade goes 5-26 shooting. Quote

He's allowed an off night every now and then but against a quality opponent it will be a loss. And Wembanyama looks like an alien...7 foot 4 inches? Thats a....freak of nature. 😅 Quote
casimir Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Spurs made 3s, Pistons missed 3s. That's that. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I think a center that can shoot the three will be important for beating the Spurs. If Wemby has to come outside and guard a shooter it will open up the paint a lot more for guys like Cade. 1 Quote

I don't know why the Spurs had SO many wide open 3 point shots last night. On many of them, they caught the ball, dribbled and set their feet with nobody near them. Wide open and unguarded shots have a higher success %. Quote

Would anyone take a huge risk with Herro? I know it's already past the deadline... And he's always injured... Aside from that, as 6th man, I think Herro would be that missing guy. LeVert and Huerter would = Tyler Herro... $$$ and trade wise (if it were still prior to the deadline)... and Miami was looking at any way possible to move him before the deadline with zero interest from anyone (huge lack of availability/ too often injured...). I was just interested in anyone's thoughts on him... Quote

On this team Stew averages less than one make a game. You can go back a long way and not find much in the way of long gunning Piston big men. One year of Kelly Olynyk? Rasheed if you want to call him a center, then all the way back to Laimbeer? Quote

Wide open and unguarded shots have a higher success %. Because we were struggling to guard the Wemby pick and roll. He would dive to the paint and we had 2 guys collapsing on him to body him up so he couldn't just dunk it. That left dudes wide open on the perimeter and the recovery wasn't fast enough. Quote
Betrayer Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago They primarily lost this game because they shot 19% from 3. Pistons are a poor shooting team, but this was far worse than normal. Credit to Spurs defense, but they also missed a ton of wide open looks. On the other end, the Spurs were hitting their open 3s. That said, this was a 1 point game with 8 minutes to go in the third when JB and Ausar got into it over a missed defensive assignment and JB benched him for the remainder of the game (as reported by Ku). JB covered it by saying that it was because Ron was playing well, but that was obvious B.S. Never mind that the team was better on offense when Ausar was in the game, and obviously better on defense. Never mind that the 4 times they tried to put Wemby on Ausar and have him roam, we scored on three of those possessions. Never mind that Duncan Robinson gets cooked every time they go after him or that Careless Lavert dribbles it off his foot or that Daniss was having an off night. None of that matters, but let's make an example of the best perimeter defender in the league and our second most impactful player on the team. JB is an absolute terrorist when it comes to Ausar. It cost us the first round series last year and it has cost us (or nearly cost us) numerous times already this year. It has to stop. I'm not saying they would've won with him on the court, but it certainly would've been a much closer game with a few extra stops, a few extra possessions, and some easy transition buckets. Quote

Of those 19 only 10 shoot over 36% and two of those guys haven't even attempted 100 shots yet due to injury. Of the 19, only 4 guys make more than 2 per game. A big that can shoot well is pretty rare in the NBA. 1 Quote

Only $33 million due next year, then a free agent. If you're going to take a flyer on an oft injured player, a cheap and short contract like Herro's is how you do it. Quote
