2026 DETROIT TIGERS REGULAR SEASON THREAD

So the "network" that runs FanDuel will be gone... I assume that DSN will take over that 'slot' on cable/satellite systems?  Will the Pistons integrate into DSN?  Or will they do their own thing?  The entertainment entities between the Gores and Ilitch company merged into the 313Presents, which used to be Olympia and Palace Sports and Entertainment.  So there is precedent to them merging some things and obviously they share LCA.  Granted you have statues of the Red Wings and the Giant Steve Yzemran picture holding the cup so one would be forgiven to thinking it's a hockey arena the Pistons play in, but other than that they do have fair share of Piston props throughout the concourse.  And this spring could be fun.  That's gotta rub Chris Ilitch the wrong way a little bit, if the Pistons, a tenant, take over LCA. They built that big plaza out front for fans to party in for playoff games and...

Have the Wings even ever had a playoff game at LCA? Its been 9 long, long years since they even made the playoffs. An entire generation of kids never saw them in them. They probably wonder why Detroit is called Hockeytown.

No.  The Pistons have played 5 playoff games there, losing all 5.  Last year they lost 3 home game by a combined 6 points.

No team has won a playoff game there yet

That's kind of the line you hear right now. I don't know enough to know if it will happen or not, but it makes a ton of sense. Heck, he already has the same stadium as the Wings.

Just noticed many of those free over the air games on Michigan stations are weekday afternoon games. That's a bit lame.

A few of you have mentioned the absence of @Jim Cowan who was also Charles Liston on the old board and wondered what he was doing and if he was OK and I reached out to him through email and he said he’s doing just fine but that he finds his general interest in being a part of a message board on a daily basis to have waned and that it only has its greatest value as an all consuming passion which has for the time being ebbed. He said that he’s excited about McGonigle and the starting pitching and sent his best to a number of you. Since it’s a personal message, I don’t feel comfortable relaying too many of the details, but my own concern was that something healthwise had happened to him - we are both 74 so that can be an issue  - and it hasn’t. Anyway, that’s the scoop.

So he is 75 points under on BABIP...

When his BABIP stabilizes and if he can up his LD% to a significant degree (small sample size after all...);

Sure, I think we'all could have a conversation on the effectiveness of any supposed changes that Greene made...

Today: I don't think I'm there yet... give him another month or thereabouts...

I know I have given so many of you a hard time about parroting things heard on Stavenhagen's podcast.

A one-off line on this morning's about regretting giving up Malloy because of Jones' 0/8 start had me look up Malloy's numbers. I beg of you to look up his Durham stat line before pining for him to return.

Malloy seems like a five star person but he is limited defensively and so is Jones. Both will be Tiger's history soon.
