IdahoBert Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago It might rain earlier in the day, but at game time it’s supposed to be cloudy and in the low 50° range. So this game is doable. Quote

IdahoBert Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I have access to Apple TV through my son. The main thing I’ve watched has been some nature documentaries, and the Foundation TV series. Something like 14 of the Tigers games this season are only going to be available from other sources such as Apple, Peacock, and God knows what else. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Mize, Skubal, Valdez, then Jack on Boston Marathon Day. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago And, this will be the 4th game of a stretch of 13 games in a row without a day off. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago That Marathon Day game works well for me because that means I get to watch it at 9:10 AM MDT. Quote

I have no interest in 1) trying to qualify, 2) Paying mid 4-figures to buy my way in. I've run handful of "big" races like Grandma's, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, but the majors like New York, Chicago, and Boston have never been on my bucket list. Too Many people, to hard to get around before and after the race. I have several times been able to run a marathon and then take in a ball game afterwords. That makes for a great day!! Quote
Tiger337 Posted 10 minutes ago Posted 10 minutes ago I've been a runner in the Boston area for 50 years and even I haven't run the Boston Marathon. The logistics of getting there and getting out does not sound fun. Most people I know have run it which makes it seem like not a big deal to me. I prefer the low key races. Quote

I haven’t run Boston. I ran qualifying times in the ‘80s but never got around to it and seemed like I had endless time to do so. Then life happened and by the time I got back into marathons starting around 2009 my times had slipped and then I shifted to trails/ultras. Have to admit though, if I could qualify I would love to run Boston. My sister ran it, is glad to do it, but like tigers337’s comment the point to point nature of the course made buses as much of an effort as the run. No interest in other majors though. Chicago was worst experience of my 30 or so marathons/ultras because of having to pick through thousands of people who had placed themselves in faster corrals than they should have. In the mid-80s there used to an Emily & Pooh 10k that ended on the Tiger Stadium warning track. Did that a couple of times then sat in the bleachers in the afternoon.
