UCFKNIGHT Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago The Red Sox just fired Alex Cora and almost all of his coaching staff. Chad Tracy has been promoted for Worcester to Boston as interim manager. John Henry and the Fenway Group definitely have the money to convince Hinch to leave the Tigers. Quote

Wow, that didn't take long. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I guess money is the only consideration ever and always to some people … I don’t know if it is to Hinch. Quote

Is going to quit his multi-year contract and leave his two-time playoff team well into fulfilling its plans to become a perennial contender, with some of the best young players in the game due to join the roster in the next few years? Or are you more like hoping A.J. is going to leave? Edited 5 hours ago by chasfh Quote
Hongbit Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I heard that John Henry is also planning on buying Kevin McGonigle from the Tigers. Apparently he has that much money that he can convince the Tigers to sell him for cash. 1 Quote

There is no reason to think Hinch wants to go anywhere, but the truth is that if he did, it wouldn't do much good to try to hold him to his contract and have him sit around without his heart in his job. Contracts on that kind of talent - artistic talent if you will, are of pretty limited value if they really want out. Another game would be the Sox (e.g.) could offer a title bump - "manager/GM" for example, for which there is probably an out in most managerial contracts - didn't we get Harris that way in fact? I'm going to go out on a limb and just declare that Hinch's heart is in his job here. Quote
