And they’re giving Kevin a day off, which is probably good. I suppose he’s available for pinch hitting or something late in the game if it matters.

PH him if (when) we get the bases loaded. He doesn't swing at many bad pitches and he puts the ball in play.

Sorry, I'd rather see Jace Jung than go back to the mediocre past of Zack Short.       This is like Dan Cleary with the Red Wings.  Can't get rid of him.

Jung out of position, against a LH pitcher? No thank you, hard pass.

My post was not in anyway a criticism of how Harris and Hinch manage the roster.  I am 100% sure that Harris and Hinch are not happy that all the injuries are forcing chaos.

Yes, I acknowledge that, although there are some folks who insist Harris Hinch love the chaos, and utility above stability.

Baseball is designed to break your heart.

I would bet Skubal will make it back much quicker than anybody can guess. Weeks...not months. That's my mindset...not going out on a ledge.

That, and we don't have anybody else.

Hinch is smart, giving our LH hitting rookie a day off against a LH pitcher. Rookies usually wear down during their first full season, it's more games they've ever played.

I am confident the Tigers will survive and Skubal will return, but because of this he will only be able to go 5 innings in the deciding game of a playoff series, not 6.

Dollars to donuts he'll be back by July 1st. As long as we stay close, we'll be fine. Looking outside, the sky is still there, it hasn't fallen.

I'll say he comes back after the break for a little extra caution.

if Melton is back quick and is good, and Flaherty straightens out, they *might* stay in it, but this is pretty much turning out to be a season from HeII

Madden has given us three good innings. I wonder if that’s enough. Wouldn’t want to push our luck. But maybe he’s settling into a groove. But I’ll let the smartest guys in the room make that decision.
