If you saw the CF shot of Colt hitting the single, you could clearly see that in that swing, his hips were already done - they had stopped rotating, by the time his swing got to the ball. That's part of the power vacuum.

True, but I also don't recall a Tigers team so riddled with injuries in my lifetime. Contenders need depth, but this has been overwhelming and ridiculous

If I recall correctly, 2024 was just as bad with injuries.  Plus, they traded away any remaining pitcher that was good.
