chasfh Posted June 7 Posted June 7 And the hit going off Cole Young's glove slowed the ball down enough to allow Perez to scores easily for the win! If he had not deflected it either Perez might have been out at the plate, or he'd be at third and we'd still be playing. Quote

His Ks are not up, his walks are not down, his fly ball rate is similar, but his LD rate is down 50% to an abyssmal 12% leading to a 169 BaBip and the highest GB/FB rate of his career. Seems like we have another guy that made an off season adjustment that didn't work. I wonder if he went to the same place as Keith...... Edited June 7 by gehringer_2 1 Quote

So I was alternating between watching some of the game and following it a bit on my computers as I doing a few others things Sunday afternoon. At one point I was just about ready to finish up what I was doing on my computer and noticed it was the bottom of the last inning with the Tigers down one run. With gameday pulled up in a tab I watched three quiet outs and shut off my computer in disgust and went about the rest of my day. It was about 3 hours later as I was breezing through Reddit that I saw a post about McGonigal's walk off and thought: Huh, old post from a different game I guess. Wait... was that McGonigoggles Girl? Wait... what's going on? Did I slip into an alternate dimension? This was when I actually looked up the game again on my phone and OH MY GOODNESS. I "watched" the bottom of the 8th inning and thought it was the bottom of the 9th! I missed perhaps the most exciting inning in Tigers history in years! Two picks off in the top of the 9th. A walk off hit in the bottom of the 9th... and I MISSED IT! 1 Quote
