Tigermojo Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Time for Tork and Vierling to heat up for the second half surge. Carpenter pinch hit homer would be nice. Quote
NorthWoods Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Madden at Wrigley, sounds like Mize might be getting IL'd. per Woodbery. Quote
chasfh Posted July 21 Posted July 21 If I am seeing this right, Montero is starting tomorrow instead of Melton, which means we have only seven relievers in our pen for tonight and not eight, all of whom have thrown double-digit pitches on at least one of the past two days. So Valdez had better give us 100 or more pitches and chew up at least 21 outs tonight, or we're gonna have issues for the next couple of games. Plus we don't have any days off until a week from Thursday. I don't know if Melton is unavailable for tomorrow night—it will be his fifth day since his last start—but if Valdez gets blown off the mound early, there's a chance Hinch might have to go off script and turn to Montero after all, depending on how things go. If he wants to skip Melton to limit his innings, why doesnt he do it against some of the weak upcoming opponents? Resting him against Chicago also means one of our best relievers is unavailable. It doesn't make sense... Quote
NorthWoods Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Evan Woodbery @evanwoodbery The Tigers placed RHP Jack Flaherty on the 15-day IL today with right flexor inflammation. They're hopeful it's a mild injury and that he'll need only a brief IL stint. Quote
kdog Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Flaherty to the IL. He can come back after the deadline and eat innings..no trade value: Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted July 22 Posted July 22 I am hoping for an entertaining game tonight because of the amount of discomfort and pain I am in. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted July 22 Posted July 22 right what flexor? I assume arm because he sucked last night, but I'm not sure I see why it couldn't be his hip or something. Quote
