Both Detroit papers up with stories full of praise for the long AB.

It was pretty impressive for a 21 year old.

The potential core of this team is so impressive for being so young.   McG-Clark-Dingler w/Melton-Jobe paired with the other talent could lead to a decade or more of success.

I am liking that Tork has become better at pitch judgement.   His abs tend to be a little longer than they were.

He's watching some of his buddies getting replaced by guys with better pitch judgement...

And, IMO, he's feeling the heat.

Is this what it takes for him to lock-in on a nice long hot streak?

I'll take it.

As G2 said: whatever works.

I have been wondering about this more lately: how much does seeing your team/teammates all having good runs together or bad runs together influence your own performance? IOW, how contagious is hitting, really? I might try to look into that if I can design the queries effectively enough.

Cleveland Guardians baseball brought to you by the good folks at Taylor Farms?

I would think that, especially, with the approaches that McGonigle and Clark take, plus Keith and Dingler to some extent...

But also Valencia, who could "possibly" be a direct threat to Tork...

That Tork is getting the "high hit tool" contagion. I think he's decent at controlling the strike zone. Or maybe he has upped his concentration/ motivation only... At least I would hope so. that it's one, or several, of these

I don't know the answer... But I like where you're going with this...

maybe check out the Boston Red Sox of a few years back who deployed a similar hitting strategy. Did others who were merely average before the philosophy was implemented on the Sox... increase their strike-zone-control and make-quality-contact ability after a few players were added to the team that displayed these two abilities at a very high level?

Baez in LF...interesting. I would have guessed Baez in CF and Clark in LF. But I like not disrupting Clark.

There's that, yes. It's better to move the guy who #2 on the depth chart than the guy who's #1. But, also, it makes more sense to play Baez in LF at home than it might in ballparks with smaller LFs, such as Fenway, where Baez might play RF instead.

Javy in Left.

What did the Guardians give up for Adell? As bad as Detroit needed a RH hitting rightfielder, it seems like Harris should have been on that. ??

I do have confidence in Baez in LF. He will probably make a game-saving diving catch there today.

I am mainly just hoping Javy doesn't crash in Max going after a ball that shouldn't be his. Like this.

Just what we would need: a RF to block Zyhir through next season, plus pay him $2 million for the rest of this season and $10 million or so next year.

Adell has a 91 wRC+. Why trade for a guy like that?

Asking for a friend… Which of our pitchers do we don’t mind losing for a couple weeks to hit one of the Cleveland batters in the face?

Jake can come back?
