This popped up somewhere in my feeds. It hits home this week after spending time with cousins I haven’t seen in probably 30 plus years at an uncle’s life celebration service. He passed a couple weeks ago after turning 98.

I listened to 89x yesterday.  Heard a couple of songs i've never heard before along with your standard 'classic' alternative music from the 90's.  I don't listen to radio much anymore, but had to give a listen after I heard it was back.

Jerry Cantrell is here tomorrow.  I’m already going to see Tedeschi Trucks on Wednesday and Bonnie Raitt and Jimmy Vaughan Saturday.  Does the old man have it in him to go tomorrow?

Speaking of which...Paul Weller was very good in the movie from last year about the London Blitz called....Blitz.

Like I do every year, I am listening to the 9/11 memorial reading of the names.

First plane hit the tower 8:46.
I recall it was the most beautiful fall day.

Please implore your congressional representatives to keep the funding for those firemen & others who are still suffering from severe health issues from working in the rubble for many of those subsequent days.

10:28 North Tower collapses.

i spend much of that day desperately trying to reach my sister, who lived in Manhattan, by phone.  Wasn’t successful until i eventually realized cell tower calls weren’t getting through.  I reached her by email later that afternoon. She previously worked about two or three blocks away from the World Trade Center, but had been laid off about a month previous, but I knew every week she was down there visiting with friends and coworkers and networking so she could find her next job.

I just didn’t know if she was down there that morning. Thankfully, she was not. That was the scariest six or seven hours ever to me.

On the day the US was attacked Pat Benatar was scheduled to perform a concert at a vineyard in Napa, Ca. The promoter urged her to go thru with it. After opening with America the Beautiful, this was the second song in the set.

This video is from a TV concert a few years later

89X is back?! Sweet! I missed it when I moved back in 1992. It had just gone full time modern rock from the weirdo day/night format thing they were doing.
