A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else. Instead of allowing this birthday parade to be the center of gravity, we will make action everywhere else the story of America that day: people coming together in communities across the country to reject strongman politics and corruption. For that reason, NO KINGS is not hosting an event in Washington, D.C. We will instead have a major flagship march and rally in Philadelphia to draw a clear contrast between our people-powered movement and the costly, wasteful, and un-American birthday parade in Washington. You can RSVP for the Philadelphia event here. For participants in the D.C. area, we encourage you to join us in Philadelphia, find a local NO KINGS mobilization in Virginia or Maryland, or join our partners at Free D.C. for DC Joy Day, a community-led event in the District. 2 Quote

I'm seeing there 's a No Kings Day rally at the County Courthouse Saturday. Several retired military brass will be on hand to speak. 1 Quote

LaceyLou Posted June 10 Posted June 10 I'm sure there will be one at the Common downtown.... hopefully I'll get out of work in time to catch at least part of it. Quote

chasfh Posted Wednesday at 02:14 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:14 AM Speaking as someone who’s on the same side here, Terry Moran’s tweet was well out of bounds, and his journalistic integrity and objectivity could be fairly questioned in the aftermath. ABC could not afford to keep him around after that. It’s just a shame he couldn’t restrain himself, because who knows what kind of character he’s going to be replaced with. 2 Quote

chasfh Posted Wednesday at 01:05 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:05 PM Politico is not part of the mainstream media dedicated to speaking truth to power. Their mission is to report specifically on the mechanics of the political aspect of government, mainly Washington, and they can’t afford to risk losing sources in this particular government by being some sort of diogenean truth-teller. Which is fine, I guess—there’s room in the media landscape for all kinds of players, and it’s up to us to disparage those we hate or that are craven liars. 1 Quote

romad1 Posted yesterday at 02:00 AM Posted yesterday at 02:00 AM I witnessed a couple P-51 Mustangs and my son said what looked like they were escorting a B-25 Mitchell. If it were any other event I would have thought it was cool. But, we know it was for the vanity of the anti-Christ. Quote

TBF, the coverage on DC parade was below the coverage of the protests and both were below the ME news. Edited yesterday at 04:45 AM by gehringer_2 Quote

America knew this was a Trump birthday party and a show of force by the regime which appropriated US troops and cost $45m. Meanwhile, much more sizable crowds turned out to protest Trump in all 50 states. 1 Quote
oblong Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago a friend and I have a running gag, going back over 20 years, of taking events and talking about them in an out of context but factual way. Like for 9/11 "Traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge was heavier than normal today due to an incident requiring response from multiple fire houses" "Colin Powell, the first Jamaican Secretary of State, died today..." 1 Quote
