  1. Past hour
  2. Casey might be having a hard time getting a grip on that ball. I hope he doesn’t walk to the bases loaded.
  3. Yesterday
  4. Neat and interesting conversation about gloves. At the end of the day I think it boils down to a personal preference. Gloves matter. It is one of our tools. Speaking of tools, back in the day they rated people on the 5 tools. Fielding, throwing (arm strength), hit, hit for power, and run. The glove is only part of one of those tools, but you want what you want. What is comfortable for you, what do you like, and also what position. That matters, without a doubt. The pitchers glove is bigger to help hide the ball while he's deciding what to throw and moves the ball in his glove to get the grip he wants. That is something they watch - tipping pitches. A big clunker of a glove doesn't work so well with a 100 mph shot at 3rd base. But only part of one tool. Nothing game changing. Unlike hollow bats (in the old days), roids, and baseballs that should have Titleist printed on them. 🙂
  5. United Healthcare and Target, two of the most revered brands in the United States of America.
  6. Well it’s really cold there, and the fans also hate their owners
  7. According to Jason, we’re also down an umpire.
  8. Twins already waste one of their ABS calls. Ha!
  9. Almost nobody in the stands these people must hate baseball… except for the usually empty seats right behind a home plate and there’s people there.
  10. I don’t think there are enough United Health Care logos in this stadium
  11. He'll just claim some kind of victory.
  12. HBO needs to bring this back. When this came on, you felt like you were about to watch something special. I even loved watching the making of this thing, whatever it's really called.
  13. I guess I’ve grown up because I resisted the urge to say “yabba dabba do”. I was once at the Meijer in Allen Park (on The Hill) and I was in the produce section and some lady yelled out for her son "MARCO !" so I answered "POLLO" and several people laughed, but the woman looked at me like I tried to kill her dog or something. I don't think it was too inapprioate. It was funny.
  14. I might be saying the same thing here... but let me put it my way: I have always been on the "out with the unproductive old and in with the new and unproven" bandwagon. I'll take rookie mistakes and such because I want to see exactly what we have... or don't have. And with some of these kids, it takes an NHL year or two to find out. So I am on board right now with "Clean House". On the Wings roster. All the players that McClellan believes are nothing more than "shirts on ice"... dump them. For 6th and 7ths if that's the best we can get. For something better if that's possible. For nothing if that's required. But OUT with the OLD and in with the new. It will probably be a step back. Maybe even a HUGE step back. But put it on the kids. To either step up and show they belong in the NHL... or not. It may even take a year or two to flesh out what we are working with. And there will be lots of pain involved, I am sure. If at the end of 2 years all of SY's "prospects" are nothing but crap... Then it's time to clean house in the front office and start anew. Yzerman has spent YEARS "building up the farm system". There either is something to that... Or he's been a failure. With picks/ development... it doesn't matter. And that means going outside the Org, not just stepping up a SY crony. IMO.
  15. Indy looks like a Michigan satellite campus right now. Easily 100:1 ratio of Michigan to UConn fans.
  16. I was never a Kiss fan, I was more into R&B growing up, and I didn't know much about Ace until after he died. But then I saw clips of interviews with him and he had the best laugh. It seemed like he was having a lot of fun with it all and I get the impression that he left because Gene and Paul were taking everything way too seriously. That Tom Snyder interview is an absolute riot. How can you not like a guy when he's having such a good time like that?
  17. Food poisoning would be better than a virus going around the clubhouse.
  18. I think Benetti and Dirks can be a bit much at times. I thought they sounded good on the Peacock game, but they also had to fold in Brad Thompson and Adam Ottovino. I wonder if the plan was to go to Ottovino as often as they did. I think Benetti (or the producers or whoever) brought him into the game a good amount even though he was a sideline reporter. It wasn’t a 4 man booth, but he was involved. I like how they piece together during rain delays. It can have its less than stellar moments, but for the sake of trying to entertain on the fly, I think they generally do well.
  19. Stomach flu is almost still always food poisoning. I hope it wasn’t a chili dog.
  20. And it's not just private people who got screwed out of money. It's also billions of taxpayer dollars. From...you guessed it...Medicare and Medicaid fraud convictions being pardoned. Donald Trump is, by far, the biggest conman in the history of the world.
  21. The people he's threatening don't care if thousands of civilians die. Its an empty threat that Trump made, he backed himself in a corner. He cant lie his way outta this one, if Iran doesnt open up the Strait of Hormuz, the whole world will know.
  22. I was going to say Cobb. Nathan provided middling production in his first year. I forgot he pitched all of 1/3 of an MLB inning in his second season of the contract. At least we have on field photographic proof of his existence as a Tiger? Is that a check in the good column?
  23. I was hoping against hope that Larkin would pass on the Olympics. I knew there was no way he would but I was hoping anyway. I guess from his standpoint a gold medal will be a fonder memory than washing out in the 1st or 2nd round of a cup series someone else is going to win, so I can't blame him. Just because .I. don't care about the Olympics.........😉
  24. Carpenter is sick with a stomach flu. Its why hes not in the lineup.
