Jim Rutherford just admitted the Canucks tanked hard. “It is always difficult when you have a bad season but this one was on purpose. It is about time the Canucks have luck in getting a high pick”. I mean, we all knew, but aren’t you at least supposed to pretend?

They call that the ultimate "upsell". He probably had one bad lugnut. The advisor is paid moslty on commission and said to himself "The worst the customer can say is no." He made $20 and the tech pulled $100 and the dealer gets the rest. COG was probably $10

as much as I bag on ep40 for being soft and the most overpaid player in the league, im almost positive vancouver will get more than just two god awful overpaid players like compher and rasmussen in return.
-
Bummer. He was playing PCL AAA for Vancouver when we first moved to Vancouver, saw him play here a few games.
-
that's just silly. any such arrangement without trevor linden is meaningless!

Agree to a point. The early seasons and novels were very good, the last couple of years have turned into a slog. Actually I feel the same about the Daniel Silva “Gabriel Allon novels. Used to look forward to the annual July drop. I’ll still buy it but it seems that retirement for the Artist/Spy is lacking something, I kind of miss the old Israeli spy group. He’s been doing them for 20 plus years now. The current bad guys have turned into very rich mafia types -
dang.... yeah he was indeed a very solid player.

Janet Mills is right there who stood up to Trump’s face and he backed down. The choice seems to obvious.

Illustrating what everyone has been talking about regarding how bad the bottom 6 has been. They really need to figure out how to get rid of Compher and Ras.
-
We'll take that POS Adam Fantilli off their hands...and that Werenski bum. Realistically...former 1st rd pick Kent Johnson tailed off badly this year...maybe we could get him. I'm sure Ken Daniels would love to have another UM guy to talk about

Yep, look how the Tampa found and brought in this season's top 2-4 scorers, post-Yzerman. - Jake Guentzel, C. Signed him two years ago as a 29 year free agent coming off a 30G 77 Pt season. 7 x $9mm. Has produced 80 and 88 pt seasons with Tampa, both around the 40 goal mark. - Brandon Hagel, LW. Acquired him four years ago as a 23 year old at the trade deadline. Gave up quite a bit, two 1st rounders (18 and 19 overall). Two cheap years then a contract extension of 8 x $6.5mm. 90 pts last year, 74 pts this year. - Darren Raddysh, D. Had been undrafted, Tampa signed him to a 1 year deal five years ago as a 25 year old. 70 points this season.

He was a very solid ball player for a long time. Gone too soon.

Vancouver would entertain just about anything to shake up their locker room. Just getting out from that contract would be a win for their new GM. I also see Columbus in a similar situation. Mathieu Olivier is exactly what this team is lacking and needs badly. Mason Marchment also fits the bill very well.

Copp led the league… in goals below expected.

So let’s say the new guy is told to get EP40 off the books. Is there any circumstance under which it makes sense for Stevie to make a play for him, as was rumored at the trade deadline? As far as I can tell he has 6 years left at $11.6 million, $69.6 total. Assuming he passes a physical and his knee isn’t shot, would you trade for him if the guts of the deal were Vancouver taking Compher and Rasmussen? If we can unload those contracts, which total almost $17 million still, that brings the net cost of EP40 to $53 million, which is $8.83 million a year. assuming his knee checks out, you end up with a player who, even playing on a bad team in a bad situation, has been much more productive than Copp. Maybe in a less bad situation, playing with a bunch of Swedes, and not having the unforgiving eye of the Canadian hockey media on him he might bounce back to a 65 point player. Not great but would have been enough for third or fourth on this year’s team. Put Larkin with DeBrincat on the first line, then Pettersson and Raymond on the second line, maybe with Genborg eventually for some physical presence. It could be a disaster so you’d have to make sure Hakan and Lidstrom and all the other Swedes are bought in. But this rebuild is stuck in limbo unless Stevie can pull a rabbit out of his hat.

A few of my coworkers are from Maine-and are not planning to support the Nazi. I recently heard of a woman named Andrea LaFlamme who is mounting a campaign, but she'd be a write-in candidate. Maybe she has a chance.

RFK Jr. is basically a conglomerate of all of the different types of people my parents advised me to avoid. He belongs in a cheesy young adult series that takes place in a dystopian society.

The Canucks need to hire Roberto Luongo as GM and bring in Kevin Bieksa, Henrik Sedin and Todd Bertuzzi as its drafting & pro scouting team.

But we were around 13, not grown men

To be fair, who hasnt?
