I wish the Tigers only got two months of Sweeney! It terms of WAR, the Tigers have lost that deal so far. However, that is not the point. The point is fans always think their team can get great prospects at the deadline and they usually just get players the other team doesn't want to keep that badly. -
Love the Cavs strategy tonight. Can't blow a 4th quarter lead if you never have a 4th quarter lead.

If JV comes back effectively and Skubal and Melton pitch well with Jack still struggling? I could see him being the odd man out. But yeah, the money... -
Beauty goal by Slafkosky might be enough. https://x.com/TVASports/status/2057649082093404258/video/1?s=46

Det is 30-53 in their last 83 reg season games. Kind of a bipolar team. And I believe they have a strong stretch on the horizon, given several key players are about to return - Today

Per WAPO today: Ken Martin releases controversial 2024 Democratic 'autopsy' report. - blames Biden for not grooming Harris as a national figure - concludes that tran-gender issues played badly for Harris and the party - concludes dems did not hit Trump as hard as was needed - states that going back to Obama the Dems have neglected party building. - blames party for writing off too many areas Story concludes with: "The autopsy says the Democratic Party and its candidates have lost voters’ trust. “In the face of misinformation and disinformation, our candidates have proven incapable of projecting strength, unity, and leadership, and voters have drifted away,” https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2026/05/21/democratic-national-committee-releases-contentious-autopsy-2024-campaign/

A third of the way into the season and the Tigers are now a sub-.400 team. I don’t think even tiger2022 saw that one coming. 😉 -

They’re an organization that built a division favorite but that still has to field a team when a lot of their good guys get injured. -

And all they got was two months of Jack Flaherty so I think we got the better end of that little deal. -

Will Tigers Pony up for Skubal
monkeytargets39 replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in Detroit Tigers
Gotta be honest- I think regardless we need to look at dealing Skubal, Mize, Jansen, Torres and possibly Vest and Carpenter at the deadline. At least make them all available and see what we can get. Theres a AAA 1B prospect in the Brewers system that doesn’t hit for much average but has a ridiculous walk rate and a .420 career OBP and a low K rate. Brewers have two of the top 10 first base prospects plus two guys already raking in the bigs—and they’ll probably want pitching help. Diamondbacks could be buyers at the deadline. Their #10 prospect is a AAA 3B/INF that has a career .300 average with a .389 OBP. Walks as much as he Ks…just not a lot of power but projects solid defensively. D-Backs could use starting pitching help and DH help. Could try and ship Carpenter to them and or a pitcher. Dbacks also have a LH starter at AAA that has great K:BB rates and low BAA. Apparently lower end on velocity but very good control. The Mariners are gonna want to make another run at it and I feel like they’re the team that we could fleece the most in a Skubal trade just because they’re super hungry for a WS berth and Skubal is from that area. I’d target Kade Anderson the pitcher and/or Michael Arroyo (2B/OF) as returns there that really fit the billing for strike zone dominance. Jonathan Long is a 1B from the Cubs that could be a good pickup too. -
French and then English, actually. Well done, classy.

Beaten on that 2nd goal, but how can Gostisbehere have been cast off by the Wings but gets regular minutes with top seed Carolina? 50 pts in 55 games this season, $3.2mm cap hit.

Flying start to Habs-Canes series. 1-1 one minute in.
