  1. Past hour
  2. Wonder if Thibedeoux will be on the move today. Would have to be a creative package money wise to make sense for Detroit
  3. I feel much more comfortable knowing that a dysfunctional organization like Miami got Proctor and we ended up with Blake Miller. I think long-term, Brad got the better player. Another note about about Blake Miller, he is one of the top 30 visits the Lions had. So once again, Brad drafts a player with an elite RAS score and a player he had previously met with in a top 30 visit.
  4. They’ll quit taking money when you quit taking money.
  5. a subsidized national airlines like all the other third rate powers? What's not to love. Change the name to Spirit of Trump and it will be the airline of choice for terrorists to attack.
  6. The rule governing batted balls lodging inside a player’s uniform is not explicitly covered in the Major League Rules document, but in the Major League Baseball Umpire Manual, which offers further interpretation of rules deemed not explicit enough to cover a given situation such as this. That was the case here. This play was covered in the umpire manual under Rules Interpretation #6, Ball Going Into Player’s Uniform: If a batted or thrown ball inadvertently goes inside a player or coach’s uni- form, lodges in the catcher’s face mask or paraphernalia, or is intentionally placed inside a player’s uniform (e.g., in a pants pocket), the umpire shall call “Time.” The umpire will, using common sense and fair play, place all runners in such a manner that, in the umpire’s judgment, will nullify the action of the ball going out of play. That being said, if the umpire determines that the player placed the ball in his uniform intentionally for the purpose of deceiving a base runner, the umpire will place all runners at least one base (or more if warranted, in the umpire’s judgment in order to nullify the action of the ball being put out of play) from the base they originally occupied. In no case may any outs be recorded on such play. For the purposes of stopping play and ruling the ball dead, it doesn’t matter whether the lodging of the ball within the uniform is intentional. The only way intention factors into this interpretation is the decision to move the runners up a base (lodging is intentional: yes; lodging is unintentional: umpire discretion).
  7. Pretty good stuff here. I really like what we're getting in Miller.
  8. Today
  9. Ending a Yordan Alvarez segment, Brian Kenny/MLB Now did a twitter poll on their show yesterday asking viewers who they thought the most underrated players in baseball today are, and the first two responses were Dingler.
  10. By winning close games and losing blowouts?
  11. Imagine what he’s going to be like when he gets his home run stroke.
  12. I saw the Live Draft thread in the Lions forum and wondered for a second if it meant they had to start the AI draft to fill the military for the invasion of Iran. Also,
  13. Might as well win the first game of this series...for Framber's sake.
  14. It’s not an out. The rule is right there. You can’t use your jersey to make a catch, just you can’t use your hat. It makes no difference that it wasn’t intentional. And, no, it’s not the same as pinning ball against your chest with your arm or whatever and the ball happens to touch the uniform. I’m sure there are some borderline cases where the rule could be argued but this wasn’t one of them.
  15. who knew kcp was the key!
  16. They beat the 13th, 14th, 20th, and 30th ranked offense when they won the title. They were also the 15th ranked defense that year compared to 21st this season.
  17. Nothing could make me fly Spirit.
  18. But the pitcher was in the field of play, which I think in the example you cited, the catcher would not be in the field of play. That’s why I think he’s out.
  19. they've done it before.
  20. duren has been shut down in the playoffs two years in a row. if he was an elite scorer that wouldnt happen. but he's not an elite scorer. duren is andre drummond without the ego complex and the addiction to burger king. AND THATS FINE. as long as you dont pay him the max like the pistons paid drummond. if you do, you'll be paying him second star money when he's actually a role player. a good role player, but a role player nonetheless.
  21. i know you cant have all stars at every position, but they still have question marks at left guard and potentially swing tackle in the future. manu and sorsdal will be lucky to make the team. the borom signing is a good backup signing but it would be nice to have something there in the future. but its the nfl and the lions have to sign their talented players to good deals. crowds out a lot of depth.
  22. there were plenty of people saying brad only drafts bpa. "bpa" is just a silly concept. teams likely have a bunch of players with "grades" and then take one who fits an organizational need who falls within a certain tier. late rounds you can take a guy who is just all athlete or something, but the draft is their to fill future needs.
  23. One takeaway from each game tonight. Who had CJ and Kuminga leading the Hawks to a 2-1 lead? OK Johnson is a big part as well, but we mostly figured he would show up. I like the Raptors offense a lot better when they go through Barnes instead of Ingram. The ball moves a lot more. Denver and Jokic are awful on defense. McDaniels called your entire team bad defenders and you respond by proving him right? Sad.
  24. Just isolated Duren's net rating for the times Ausar is off the court and Duren is on. He is a -26.5 in that time.
