I would have thought the bigger issue for conservatives is that brown M&Ms are in the same bag as all the rest.3 points

Using Microsoft Teams instead of Zoom, that's like using Derek Jeter at shortstop instead of Alex Rodriguez.3 points

Like some fat ass MAGA hat wearing goofball is going to stop buying the shareable pack of peanut butter M&M’s and eating the whole package while wearing his too small NFL jersey this weekend watching the playoffs. The same NFL he claimed he’d quit watching because of their wokeness.2 points

A company like Mars reformulates an ad campaign for one reason only: to make money. That's it... to the extent that "virtue signaling" or "snowflakes" or whatever enters into it, it is subsidiary to the ultimate goal of making money. You say they are losing customers, but ultimately a major company has probably done market research and has determined that they can increase market share by adopting a new campaign. That's capitalism, Archie, this isn't anything new. The bigger thing at play here, and why Tucker cannot resist the urge to waste time talking about this issue, is that cultural conservatives no longer have the same monopoly on commerce that they used to have. Companies have to market to their customer base that exists today, not what existed back in 1986 or in 2003 (ie. Leading up to the Iraq War). At the end of the day, it's whining and crying that the society has changed and that what customers want is different than it used to be. In a capitalist society, companies need to adapt. Sorry that those adaptations don't fit your view of the world I guess... not sure what else to say.1 point

apart that he has the whole thing backward. There was no looney left pushing pushing Mars to make the changes, they simply wanted to reformulate the campaign get make it more appealing to this generation. And ironically, the noise they are getting is from the looney right who are trying to cast good 'ol 'murican marketing work into some kind of woke tyranny.1 point

Since when did Trump get rid of NAFTA? NAFTA 2.0 is 99% the same as the original. Still has a dispute resolution mechanism, still has protected dairy markets - those were Trump's 2 hot issues and he caved on both of them, as usual. There are some conditions associated with Mexican auto manufacturing now (a Canadian demand). People who think NAFTA 2.0 is a new deal have no idea what was in the original.1 point

If Mars would have done nothing, Carlson wouldn't be talking about it and Mars wouldn't be losing customers. The real snowflakes that need saferooms, cupcakes and puppy dogs to survive are the liberals and mainly the young liberals. That's a bad try to deflect from your political party and its members. Everyone knows who the reals (snow) flakes are. This is part of the bigger problem we face. Liberals are so worked up about what shoes a piece of fake candy is wearing in an ad and ignoring real problems. Inflation is soaring, the markets are crashing, covid is tearing through the country and thousands of Americans are dying from it and lets not forget we are being invaded on our southern border by millions of illegal aliens. However, we have a POTUS that is more intent on trying to go to war with Russia over a country that's not even an ally. Truth is he is a bumbling idiot that can't come up with a coherent sentence, does not have the mental capacity to dress himself and reported crapped his pants in public. The world is laughing at us while the country is imploding from within thanks to the democrat party that everyone here is blindly following.1 point

I grew up in a Polish ethnic neighborhood, survived 13 years of Catholic school beatdown, most of which was attached to a Catholic church originally built around the turn of the 20th century specifically for the Polish speaking community, and still offering for quite a long time a weekly Polish speaking mass, which I sometimes had to altar serve at. I had in my possession at the time of Bless You Boys a larger sized lapel button. And I have no idea how I acquired it, I don't think it was something that I wore (although there was a time those things would be worn on a coat). But the picture on it was Pope John Paul II (he from Poland, which of course was notable given my environment) wearing a Tiger hat (the home one) atop his head and in a papal type pose, with his hand extended and hand open as if offering a blessing. And the old English script on the button read "Bless You Boys". I wish I still had that, but its long gone.1 point

We weren't too pleased either. It was her parents church so we didn't push too hard. The minister and I sorted of came to a truce and bonded a bit the afternoon of the wedding. It was the day after Woodie Hays slugged the Clemson player. It was also amusing watching him get high off rum ball cookies.1 point

FYI: That would be 1 out of 3. Or in terms if win-loss record: 1-2.1 point

LOL well at least he was a minister, he might possibly have had some actual family experience himself. The one that always makes me laugh is a Roman Catholic priest giving advice about marriage and parenting.1 point

We were saved by less than 25 people. I recall these discussions at the time and being very worried that some no name election official appointed to some county or state board that nobody paid attention to could disrupt something we think is just a formality. Yes Pence did the right thing at the time.... but what would have played out if he didn't? What if he stood up there and rejected the ballots? Even if he didn't have the technical authority. What would have been the process to carry on with the vote? We can sit here and say "They can't do that" but like so many things with Trump he will still do that.1 point

Most of the big money teams have not done much yet probably because they are waiting to see how the negotiations work out. There very well could be some stupid money thrown around before the season starts.1 point
