  1. I have a station that sells that nearby. I bought some there due to time a while back. They were maybe a buck or a little more cheaper than the airport - just for some context. I honestly don't know what took me so long to change. Everything I have starts on the first pull which is soooooo nice since I'm old and my body is broken.

  2. What bothered me about it was the lazy suggestion that Hinch and staff didn’t think to use video analysis on a hitter. That all it took was a few stick figure diagrams and look how stupid the Tigers are. sometimes the player just sucks.

  3. I blame it all on the ping pong table. Burn that sucker.

  4. Didn't we hear similar type comments from Verlander when he went to the Astros and started dominating? Like how the Astros saw something in their video and it fixed his struggles? The only difference is that Verlander was actually pretty dominant the month or 6 weeks leading up to him going to the Astros so it's not like they just magically cured him, he was cured towards of the end of his tenure here.

  5. exactly. Granted you might be predisposed to take what the player says with a grain of salt as the player who has been scuffling has an interest in projecting that there was a reason for his poor performance that has now been addressed so he can in turn project more success from himself going forward. In such case one expected counter from the Tiger org might have been, "Well we worked with Robbie on x/y/z but we are sorry we just didn't seem to find the key for him but we wish him well...." What as NOT expected was for the Tiger manager to say "Yeah, well, that *is* a problem." Sure we can spin that a Hinch just setting the bar at the "We can all always do better" level, but if so still not the most articulate way to do it.

  6. Have to look at the market within the context of who is available in this upcoming offseason.. and while Correa has a few advantages over TT, it's really hard for me to see him getting more than TT

  7. Really liked your reply and I’m certainly not going to try to debate you on the trade knowing what you know and what I do not but the dollar value exchange is often overlooked in this transaction which I think was a driving motivation for Tampa. It’s a third piece if you will that Tampa gained to use towards other assets. It’s essentially a 3 for 1 trade. As for Parades lower obp at the mlb level it’s clear he has sacrificed that for power. Quite a bit of power and I won’t be surprised if the obp increases in time. He is still only 23.

  8. LOL - Rangers have committed half a billion to their middle infield, and they can't turn easy double plays.

  9. I would not be surprised to see the Tigers make another push for Correa. They must know they can’t keep Baez at SS for the next 5 seasons and getting Correa would engender some goodwill with the fans.

  10. It’s astonishing that for a job that can pay $45 million a year there is so little available talent. And the talent gap between #1 and #21 (not to mention #41) is so vast.

  11. The other problem that the Rays have not solved with Paredes is the same problem the Tigers faced...where do you put his glove? He hasn't played third since the middle of June. Currently in August, he has played 53 innings at first, and 45 at second. Well no matter how much we think he has improved as a hitter, he doesn't have enough bat for first base or DH. I hope he does well and gets a nice payday but he still has a lot of flaws.

  12. the problem comes when the cops join on their side and you have to call out the national guard......

  13. When you assume you will get a player that had 120 wrc for multiple seasons in return it makes sense. I understand what you are saying about his strike zone ability but it honestly hasn't been shown in the bigs even with his latest hot streak it's not like he is killing it with both the average or walking. If Meadows had his average season I doubt this would be as big of a talking point over this season. If Paredes turn into Suarez I'll be the first to call this a bad trade. Right now it doesn't look great and I accept that but I feel like lots of that is based on what has happened that was out of anyone's control. I would bet that Paredes ends up as a 1B/DH in the next couple years because he just doesn't have the body type to be a positive in the field which has limited value without a large OPS.

  15. Pretty much, yes. As mentioned below, small airports are your best bet. I'm in a small town so that's all we have. I bought 3 gallons a few weeks ago, which they appreciate because it's not a small can. It is not cheap though. They have an airplane rate and a walk in rate. My 3 gallons were a little over $27 bucks. I gave them 35 and told them to put the extra money in their coffee/donut fund just for being so nice and letting us buy fuel that way. Worth.every.penny. I've been doing this for over 5 years (after spending 100 bucks getting my snowblower fixed because of clogged up fuel system) and have tipped them nicely (even though they are charging me a premium) each time. It might be a good idea to call first just to make sure.

  17. It's funny how Victor generates so much opinion. He's just your basic utility OF. Yes, he is a major leaguer, no he won't be a multiple WAR player. You'd think a guy that was neither a bum nor a star would be less controversial.

  18. Trump proved that politics is a popularity contest of how big you can make your brand and celebrity. In Georgia, Walker is a celebrity among SEC and Bulldog fans, which is more than half the state. For all the concerns Republicans have with their Senate races, this one shouldn't be one of them. Walker is in great shape compared to their other contested races and he's the nuttiest and dumbest of them all. But SEC and Bulldog football is king down south and in Georgia. I think sans maybe JD Vance in Ohio, Walker has the best shot at winning among their contested races because of his celebrity status. When you dive deeper into the numbers in the poll you can see that Herschel Walker gets 25% of the "urban" vote which I think is largely the black vote. Now, you can dismiss that off hand and say no way a Republican candidate, Walker or otherwise, gets that percentage of the black vote. But I think that misses the point of how much more football can matter than politics. African Americans love their football down their too and many remember Walker as a God as well. I'd be interested to know if Barry Sanders is a Democrat and has any interest in running for Senate. Barry's got a big brand name in Michigan and specifically in it's largest metro area, Detroit. If Stabenow doesn't run again in 2024, someone should give Barry Sanders a call and at least inquire as to his interest, assuming he's a Democrat. Sanders, while he may or may not be a good legislator, would be a good candidate for sure. That's only a partial joke.

  19. Welp, the bastard finally got me. Had a trip planned this week with four stops, starting with my brother in Cincinnati, parents in Dayton... Final night with my brother, I noticed a scratchy throat. He had been taking some Clairton for allergies, so we decide to do the home test before I go up to my parents today. His was very positive, mine was negative, so I got out of there, checked into a hotel, got the rapid NAAT this morning and started heading south, preparing to turnaround if negative. Sure enough, positive. I wanted to note two rapid Antigens (one last night, one this morning) Luckily I drove so was able to drive back today to quarantine at home and not get stranded or infect a hotel. Overall, just kinda feel like I had a vaccine yesterday minus the arm pain plus a bit of a head cold. We'll see how it goes.
