last week everyone on this board said the lions were the third or fourth best team in the nfc. after this game we'll all say theyre the worst team ever. welcome to fandom, lol.3 points

to repeat, it is very difficult to win on the road in the nfl. expecting the lions to win that many games in the row on the road is a bit unrealistic.3 points

Same ole lions lol. What an embarrassment. Not ready to start, blown off the line.2 points

It's almost like the NFL is a tough league or something. Good teams get beat by lesser teams every week -- and I'm not sure the Panthers are that much worse than the Lions. Going 9-1 to close the season was always an improbable feat, regardless of who they had to play.1 point

Remember when you entertain out of town relatives tomorrow: only WE can make fun of the Lions. We’ve earned the right.1 point

This team came in too full of their press clippings. Utter embarrassment.1 point

An endangered species. A Republican that sounds somewhat like an adult. I don't like him calling things like Social Security and Medicare entitlements, but then again that's what the GOP does1 point

That is the stupidest 2 pt play I have ever seen.1 point

Biggest concern is they brought zero effort. Didn’t even care about winning1 point

Hopefully this game reminds GM’s that not all OCs who coach a well-oiled machine will work out as a head coach!1 point

Odds of winning against the Bears and Packers!! Not odds of making the playoffs!1 point

wrong, your percentage drops because there will be fewer opportunities to make up that game.1 point

Will the Panthers break a long run here?1 point

For the record, even if they lose, as looks likely, that doesn’t make them SOL. They’ve won 6/7 with one of the hardest schedules in the NFL. Expecting them to win 9/10 and 6 straight to finish was and is unrealistic. Nice if it happens, but still a lofty lofty goal. If you want to be mad about a game it remains the first Vikings game IMO1 point

Just throwing it out there, but given that the Tigers employ his former manager in Houston, I wonder if he had insights / concerns about the leg injury during the time that they were negotiating last year. It's generally implied or is conventional wisdom that Hinch would have wanted Correa, but the level of familiarity also informs him on whatever flaws or weaknesses as a free agent option he had as well one would think.1 point

Amazing how Chris I's offer for Correa all of a sudden looks reasonable 🤔1 point

Same as it ever was, really. The scenarios are all fun to talk about, everyone loves the Kornacki shtick, but just take it one week at a time.1 point

Pianists are the best musicians imo. Their instrument is percussive and melodic. You have to be a really good at rhythm and melody to be good at it. I'm a pretty decent guitarist but I know my rhythm is shit. I tried to play drums for a while and it didn't click.1 point

If we could go back to the old site you would see that very early in his administration that I said he'd use the military to stay in office............and he actually tried. If we had weak-willed loyalists in certain positions he would have done it. Thank goodness people followed their oath and stood up to him. He needs to be in jail, but we know that will never happen. I think Republicans, in general and in secret, would LOVE to see him go to jail because it would prevent him from fucking up 2024 and they could use his jailing to attack democrats by saying it was all just political.1 point

Neither do I. Thought experiment: what if, between now and the end of the offseason, they end up landing a couple of the remaining bigger names. For arguments sake, let's say it's Profar and Jean Segura. If those signings had happened at the end of the Winter Meetings versus in January, would people still be saying they "weren't active" this offseason? People don't like to hear it, but the free agency period isn't over yet. The offseason isn't over yet. You don't get bonus points for filling your holes in early December versus filling them in late January... the holes either get filled or they do not. I dont know what they will or won't do between now and the offseason. But the fact that they haven't signed for any of their stated offensive needs or the fact that the Jon Heyman types haven't thrown their name out (ie. laundered agent talking points) doesn't mean nothing will happen going forward.1 point

Absolutely, playing at the top end of the market was never going to work out for us now, and they may have decided that even the middle of the market is overpriced in years for them. That's really what the crux of the biscuit for the Tigers is: it's more about the years than the money, and we don't want to throw more than a year at anybody because we don't want multi-year marginal players hanging around and screwing up our plans in, say, 2025.1 point
