Agree. I think this is also an underrated aspect. The old saw about hitting being 'contagious' has a certain kernel of truth to it. It's a lot easier to face pitchers that are stressed, have thrown a lot of pitches in an inning, and are working out of the stretch with men on base. The tigers O managed to fall to a point so low it became synergistically worse for everyone on the team collectively.2 points

Funny you would say this—for years I would avoid watching movies because I figured I just didn't have the time to devote two hours straight to it. Then I recently really noticed how my wife can start and stop and restart a TV show effortlessly. So I tried it—and it's great. I thought I would somehow lose the thread of what I'm watching, but I found that I repick it up just fine. I'm now starting to catch up on a bunch of movies I'd been avoiding for time reasons.1 point

Tyree Wilson has the opportunity to have a Travon Walker-esque climb through the process. I wouldn't be surprised to see him overtake one of the two unanimous top defenders right now... He doesn't have the production of Anderson or the flash of Carter, but (like Walker) his athleticism and analytics are off the charts. Of the three names you mentioned, they could cut R.Okwara and Harris on June 1st and it wouldn't surprise me at all... That would be $17MM in combined freed cap space ($11MM in Okwara and $6MM in Harris). I would actually be more surprised if they didn't cut R.Okwara. I think Paschal is a little more versatile than you give him credit for. He could put on a little weight and slide to 3-tech in just one offseason. All three of Hutch, Paschal, and Wilson (or Anderson, or Murphy) could definitely both be on the field at the same time, with Paschal on the inside of either edge. Wilson (and Murphy) are more of a hand-in-the-dirt style of physical edge than Hutch (or Anderson), but it doesn't exclude them from lining up next to Paschal.1 point

😷🤬😢 I thought I had it a few weeks ago. Kept testing negative… went to doctor- ended up being a nasty sinus & upper respiratory infection. Antibiotics and steroids and it’s finally subsided. I’m hoping you feel better soon. Also hoping your wife and girls avoid it.1 point

all in favor of this. I think Vladdie's miscalculation has resulted in the below quote from Samuel Johnson coming true.1 point

They should have kept Greene down until August so he would show up in prospect lists.1 point

Exactly my point. Geography matters, but it doesn't explain all of it. There are other factors at play.1 point

This is absolutely correct. The urban poor realize that crime prevents economic redevelopment in their areas, prevents appreciation of property valules that allows people in other places to build family economic equity etc.. But they want *better* policing, not just more violently aggressive policing. At one time the assumption was that if police depts better reflected the make-up of the community that would happen organically, but we are finding that police culture becomes an entity all of its own, regardless of who makes up the force so that hope is not necessarily realized in too many places.1 point

This is the first I've heard of this rule... I actually really like it... I mean I like it a lot. First, I know it doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen at times when a pitcher will throw over 4 or more times. Second, I like that it's 3 attempts... 3 is just a very baseball number. Third, I can actually see this being employed as a strategy by a base runner. I can see a runner who's been thrown on twice already trying to tempt the pitcher to try for a third pick off attempt. I think it could actually create some intrigue and action in the game. This is a very rare instance where I think they are actually solving a problem (admittedly a minor problem) with an upgrade to the game.1 point

This was an excellent outcome. Side note: A former professor of mine was behind a lot of shenanigans in the Reagan administration. He was Constantine Menges. Anywho...Dr. Menges (whose nickname was "Constant Menace" from the Ollie North contingent) was behind at one point an attempt in the early 1990s to form a bloc of states pre-NATO called the Visegrad Bloc which would comprise the central/easter European former Warsaw Pact states to provide a bulwark against Russia. The idea was sort of loopy at the time because together their GDP was pretty abysmal. That has changed some with two-three decades of democracy and investment. Read about some of it here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visegrád_Group https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constantine_Menges1 point

From what I've seen most sets still come with some kind of feet or leg stands, but they are removable. When you start getting wider than about 50" it does get more convenient to hang it on the wall just because you may not have any kind of furniture wide enough to stand it on if you wanted to.1 point

The most perplexing thing about this is Casey is still coach. WTF is wrong with management? Are they blind? I agree with everything else in your post (but not quoted).1 point

Greene is particularly odd to group in... he played less than 100 games and really showed flashes of greatness at times. He looked better than his baseball card stats overall.1 point

I'm not even convinced Jobe should be on there right now. It's not unreasonable to say the Tigers have no Top 100-worthy players in their system as of right now.0 points
