Everybody on the roster should be getting at bats over Cabrera. The idea this year is to find out who can contribute in the future. Cabrera can't. Guys like Baddoo, Carpenter and Vierling might.5 points

Jesus Chris Almighty … Sure, on the one hand, this could not happen in the United States as currently constitutionally constructed, so reasonable people are free to dismiss her as a complete wackjob spouting off wild ideas. On the other hand, the more she says things like this without suffering any real consequences, the more normalized the ideas themselves become, and the closer we inch to the idea that the United States might be constitutionally reconstructed to allow something like this, and god knows what else. Dismiss that if you like, especially you kids who would be those who have to deal with that decades into the future. God, I hope it takes decades at least.3 points

I blame so much of the current state of America on one man. Dale Earnhardt Jr. This country hasn’t been the same since he retired from NASCAR in 2017. These folks needed something else to care way too much about once he quit racing. They found Trump, Tucker, and hating on some libs and the rest is history. Instead of carburetors and bump drafting, they now presume to be experts on debt ceilings and NATO bylaws. It’s completely exhausting. So much of this could’ve been avoided if Junior was still out there making left turns in his Chevy every Sunday. Damn you Dale Jr. and your shitty original Budweiser sponsor too.2 points

When I adopted Lucy last August they said should might only be around 6 more months, depending on how aggressively the cancer returned. I made the decision to adopt her because she is such a sweet dog that even if she was sick, she deserved a good life, a happy life. I also decided that I wasn't going to spend a lot of money having it removed if it was only going to keep coming back. I am happy to report that Lucy is doing well as we approach our 7 month point. She has her own room and her own human-sized bed. She is a very very happy and energetic girl and she does not have a mean cell in her body. Don't know how long this will last, but I am glad I adopted her, even if it means pain later on. She deserves every bit of happiness she gets. I still get shaken for a moment when I think of Diego, but Lucy keeps me busy. She's on Cat Watch in the backyard on this freakishly warm February day.2 points

Flair came close to joining the WWF in 1988. I think summerslam was going to be his intro.1 point

No, they aren't going to DFA him. If anything they will play him too much. I am not "super concerned", but my preference is that they give more at bats to players who migjht be able to help when they do have a good team.1 point

My grandfather was a big fan of studio wrestling. Always on Saturday afternoons. I kind of picked up the habit for a while. We had the SE version (WCW) ??? Rick Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Anderson Brothers....the whole Jim Crockett group. I never really got involved with following the WWF1 point

I've been a fan of pro wrestling since I was a kid (don't judge me). In the pre internet days, WFAN in New York had an hour of wrestling news on at like 2AM Sundays. It was the only source of wrestling news out there that I knew of. I would often tune in on my way home form the bars/girlfriend's house. We were in a collective tizzy when the rumor that Ric Flair was in Toronto for Wrestlemania in 1990...was he leaving WCW for the WWF? Good times....1 point

Okay, first I agree with everything you said here, so this isn't trying to say that Hock was bad. But, an idea that just popped into my head: Could the reason that our TEs seemed to have so much success after Hock left be because they were inferior talents? What I mean is that Hock was a known threat. He may not have been 'Kelce' level, but he had skills and defenses knew he was a danger and so paid attention to him. Now I'm not saying that defense just forgot about any TE on the Lions roster after Hock left, but I'm also sure that defenses paid a lot less attention to game planning around Mitchell and co. vs. Hock. (Disclaimer here: I am NOT advocating that the Lions should get rid of star talent so defenses underestimate them so they can surprise the opposition. I'm not saying that no-name TEs will work better than a star name. I'm saying in this one instance were a team started out with a TE that defenses had to account for in game planning suddenly loses that TE... maybe opponents were caught off guard a little.)1 point

If he had worked harder at 30...he probably wouldn't look like that today. It seems like he didn't take conditioning and training seriously until he started having health issues1 point

Seeing alot of rumbling online that the Lions are likely going to be the Chiefs opponent in Germany next season. If so that's a little bit of a break not having to face them in a true road situation.1 point

If nothing else, Miggy gives this team a veteran presence, which this team doesn't have much of right now. He's not going to get many ABs in the first place, so the idea of him "taking crucial ABs away from younger guys" is a silly argument to me. In a year in which we are projected about 100 losses, Miggy should be the least of our concerns. Arguably it's the perfect year for the "farewell tour". He more than deserves it. This is his last year. This is it... Let's enjoy him fam.1 point

I don't believe that Miggy deserves scorn for the situation the Tigers are in, after all this comes down to a contract that the team offered him eight years ago and which he accepted. On the other hand, performance and merit still does matter. Miggy will gets his ABs, especially early.... but if we get a version of second half Miguel in 2023, he oughtta be given more limited ABs in favor of younger players. Which, again, fits right in with the PBO's stated comments that ABs for younger players being a valuable commodity.1 point

yeah. A cabinet maker today would kill to have access to all the mahogany burl that went into 40's and 50' console radios and televisions.1 point

I will say, the discussion surrounding the relative usefulness of early to mid round tight ends to the offensive scheme is a welcomed change of pace from most off-seasons where we are at each other’s throats about whether to fire everybody (again) and start over (again).1 point

Children's author probably geared to ages 9, 10, 11 or so. My son loved some of his books. James and the Giant Peach, Willie Wonka among others. There are some misogyny and racial overtones in some of his books and I understand the concern of some. But I feel the same way about banning and possibly rewriting some of the Dr Seuss books or even Mark Twain. I feel somewhere its the role of the parent(s) to discuss concerns with their children not self appointed or elected gatekeepers.1 point

My Big Fat Fabulous Life....................every promo for the show shows her breaking down in tears at some point. What's fabulous about that? Reality TV is cheaper to produce and there's a reason for it, because it's absolute garbage. Now we have "influencers". It's just garbage. There is ALWAYS a Law & Order episode on somewhere. Always.1 point

The 50 thousand watt blowtorches. Most all were on clear channels (no other station could use the frequency or with a few the frequency was shared by daytimers that went off the air at sunset). I basically grew up listening to KDKA until we moved south. Could still catch them at night if conditions were good. I remember sitting in my car with the GM of the Pirates single A team in Salem,VA listening to John Candelaria's first big league game. Candy had spent part the year before in Salem. KDKA, WBZ, WCFL were my primary late night go tos...1 point

I also remember once Fairley dropped to a certain point people started speculating/hoping that there was a real possibility that we could get him and then the Texans took JJ Watt and I got super excited cause then I knew one of Fairley or Prince Akamura would be available at our pick. The fact that I thought the Texans were stupid to take Watt over them two shows why Im not an NFL exec.1 point
