A former evangelical explained this once and I found it illuminating Professing your Christianity has replaced being Christian with these people It is really just that simple - I am Christian because I say I am. My unchristian acts have no more relevance than the lack of any Christian acts. They see no hypocrisy in having Christian on your bio as you degrade your fellow Americans2 points

They already tried this with Stafford but had to abandon it. Not sure if it would work with Goff.1 point

Goff is probably the best QB to ever wear the Honolulu blue and silver. He should have the right to stay here and guide them to their first Super Bowl. I think they need to come up with some new ideas to help him take it to the next level. I’m not necessarily opposed to retiring his number right now while he’s still playing. I think that may show him the team believes in him and give him that extra motivation to crush the souls of opposing defenses. I would also like to see Sheila present something to the owners competition committee that would allow him the use of a sword while on the field. Thinking something along the lines of a military saber that he would keep sheathed most of the time and he could pull it out in those special situations where he needs just a little something extra. I’d love for the team to turn Roary the mascot into an actual African Lion. With the proper training and harnessing, they could also mount Goff on Roary kind of like a Thundercats type of thing. It would take some practice throwing but JG will pick it up in time and this could really improve his ground game and overall field generalship. If the league balks at that idea then Sheila should employ Ford R&D engineers to create a system that can harness Jedi powers and import them right into Goff’s brain stem. Not sure if it’s a special helmet or if they have to cyborg terminator his brain. Either way the most important thing is to give him use to both sides of the force. He needs both light and dark so that he’s ready for all types of game conditions. That kind of power will be very difficult for defensive coordinators to game plan against. These are just a few quick thoughts on how to maximize Goff’s potential. I think are some good ideas to build on though.1 point

I think Chark is gone regardless. He's somewhat of a luxury player and I don't see Holmes splurging on a luxury. I also think the WR market is playing out in Chark's favor, somebody will pay him more than he's worth. I don't think a 32 year old Thielen changes the WR market much, supply of quality receivers is very thin.1 point

Don't forget that all of Ilitch's companies, the Tigers, Red Wings, Little Caesar's, Olympia Entertainment, etc. are all under one umbrella, Ilitch Holdings. While they likely keep statements separate for each organization internally, it is impossible for the public to know exactly the revenues and expenses for each individual one. It is easy for them to absorb the losses the Tigers might have because of the other companies. Although according to Forbes, the Tigers made a profit of $31 million in 2021 (under Mike it usually showed a negative). https://www.forbes.com/teams/detroit-tigers/?sh=1b85cb8871e01 point

The team to watch out for in the division could be Chicago. Minnesota is not in a good cap situation, they have an aging roster and Kirk Cousins is turning 35 and in the last year of his contract. Green Bay looks to be moving on from Rodgers and their roster had some holes. Chicago has a ton of cap space and will have a bounty of good picks. If Fields is the real deal they are a threat. Probably not next year but soon.1 point

exactly. you should not have to TELL me. You know who's acting more Christian than she is? Dave Grohl, the Devil himself, who is cooking food for the homeless. That's what Jesus would be doing, not making fun of an elderly man who fell down. Not a fan of Mitch, but I don't find humor in an 81 year old man getting a concussion. But hey, they joked about Paul Pelosi getting attacked with a hammer too.1 point

You’re making a really good point here. Anyone who is truly following and reflecting the teachings of Christ doesn’t have to constantly declare that they’re followers of Christ. Actions, not words.1 point

Be interested to know the "life span" of those workers at amazon centers. Not how long they live but how long they work. Bring people in, work them to death and milk them, then let them leave and wait for the new batch. Pay just enough to get them in the door. Like mortgage and financial service places but the goal there is they contact all their friends, family, neighbors... everybody they know.1 point

Jenna Ellis............who is a Christian...........don't worry, she'll keep telling you that, she'll keep telling you that because nothing she does would lend any hint that she followed any teachings of Christ. . I'm sure Jesus would make fun of a senior citizen getting a concussion.1 point

I chuckle when I hear anyone in media who believes Fox viewers would be horrified to learn they've been lied to about Dominion fixing votes for Democrats. First of all, no matter how compelling the evidence is, they will never, ever come to admit or conclude that it's a lie. They think the whole Dominion suit is the real lie, and that the left-wing mainstream media and left-wing courts who are the lackey running dogs of the Biden Crime Family are all in on the conspiracy to continue to defraud them out of Trump's rightful win. And they think that because they've been told that by people they trust. Secondly, they don't watch media like Fox News to get the unvarnished truth, anyway. They go to hear what they want to hear, period. They don't want information that tastes like bitter kale. They want disinformation that tastes like cotton candy. Holding up Fox News to shame for, I guess, abrogating their journalistic ethics, or whatever, is a complete joke, and Fox is laughing at that joke all the way to the bank.1 point

From JVL, Bullwerk https://thetriad.thebulwark.com/p/spoiler-fox-wins And I have some bad news for you: There will be no consequences for anyone involved. None. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Rupert Murdoch won’t be touched. The prime time hosts won’t lose either viewers or their jobs. They won’t face any additional shame in their professional or personal lives. The supposedly serious “news side” people, like Bret Baier, will still be given the benefit of the doubt, even by their peers in the mainstream. Democratic politicians will still go on their shows and treat them as though they are serious journalists. No advertisers will pull their buys. No paid speaking gigs will be cancelled. No book sales will be diminished. No one will even be put into timeout like Don Lemon was.1 Here I would remind you that Chris Cuomo had his entire media career destroyed because he gave a politician (his brother) back-channel advice concerning a specific incident without disclosing it. Which is proper: What Cuomo did was 100 percent out of bounds. CNN was right to fire him. It’s good that no other mainstream outlet has hired him. My point is that in the “liberal mainstream media,” Chris Cuomo got the professional equivalent of the death penalty for an offense that was a tiny fraction of the size of what happens up and down the line at Fox every forking day. And the Fox people will face zero consequences for their infinitely greater sins. But, hey, the liberal mainstream media got the Covington kids story wrong for 24 hours, so, what are you gonna do, right? Both sides? Bottom line, as a nation we're screwed1 point

that wouldn't bother me. I do like the longer nights but we are in the western portion of the east time zone so I know it's unique. But those midsummer nights when it's 10 pm and the daylight is hanging around... I equate that with good times.1 point

Honestly I'm okay with the change, although I preferred the April start. I'd rather not have it stay dark until 9 am in the winter, and I'd also rather not have it get light at 4 am in the summer. I do struggle a bit after DST starts, but on the whole I think it's the best option.1 point
