Johnson hasn't proved he can do anything with an offense that doesn't include Brock Wright in it.2 points

I’m curious who they think is in our rotation to even be able to rank us.1 point

I won't lose sleep either way. Hooker doesn't need practice to become a Detroit hero in the NFC Championship Game. He was born with that ability.1 point

I think the odds of Jordan Love repeating his performance from Thanksgiving in the wildcard game are not great. That's why I would prefer the Packers, though both are dangerous teams. It would also be fun to end the Packers season two seasons in a row.1 point

All faked by Stanley Kubrick. Didn't you know that The Shining has a bunch of clues where he admitted it? Why can't you see stars in the background photos on the moon (Scientists and photographers have explained this but the kooks just call them liars - because we all know a control and detail freak like Stanley Kubrick would say "oops........forgot the stars". Every thing you say they'll dispute. As far as seeing the equipment on the moon, they'll say the moon is a big balloon in the sky and it's not that far away and space is actually just a bunch of really high lights rigged up by some Ed Harris-like figure from The Truman Show. You can't talk sense to them. There is no PROOF that they will accept. Yes, the reason nobody goes to the edge of the flat earth so they can prove that is flat is that it's surrounded by a giant Ice Wall guarded by NASA sharpshooters (I'm not making that up - some believe this). My theory on Conspiracy Theorists (followers) is that they have absolutely zero confidence in their own intelligence so they have to make you believe something that only they and a few super smart people know. You and I are just Sheeple and they are the super smart ones. I just want to know why millions of people convincing you the earth is falsely round - what would the benefit be on that? But these Conspiracy Theories (who I think are started by people who absolutely don't believe this stuff, but want to stir others up) can get dangerous. It's why Matthew Coleman killed his two toddlers with a spear gun (his wife had serpent blood and his babies would grow up to infect the world - again, not making that up). It's why Lori Vallow killed (or allowed her kids to be killed) - because she believed some whacked out religious conspiracy that her kids were demon imposters who would bring hell to the earth. There are a few conspiracies I buy - More than one person was behind the JFK assassination. too many random connections there. He wanted to break up the CIA for meddling in domestic affairs. Lee Oswald had CIA connections. Kennedy was likely going to pull us out of Vietnam. They had contingency plans is place way too quickly. The NBA Draft is frequently rigged. The Frozen envelope? Yep, I buy that one too. T But fake moon landings? Lizard People? These people are sad and stupid and vulnerable and those with very good media skills are slickly leading them to this mental illness and these types are frighteningly close to being in control of our country. There is going to be a case at some point where a Sovereign Citizen gets on the bench as a Judge somewhere and it will cause total chaos with our whole legal system. ****, people voted for that nutjob woman in Georgia twice now. She might actually be on the short list for VP candidates too.1 point

Ryan Whitney and Chiclets have really been pumping ASP's tires this World Juniors, calling him the next Swedish defensive super star. The kid just has such a nice release on his shot....gives me Rafalski vibes.1 point

It was dumb to use a 1st round pick on Cossa. Goalie development is too much of a crapshoot. Why pick someone who MIGHT make the NHL in Year 5 after his draft (Year 3 currently) when you a choose from goalies with NHL experience? Remember the Wings using a #1 pick on Tom McCollum in 2008? Played 3 NHL games in his career. I actually liked the efforts Yzerman made in finding Ned and Husso. Neither really panned out to expectations, but cost little and we can keep trying. There is no surefire way to get a strong goalie. Edmonton and Toronto have been trying for years.1 point

I think players want to play for people they like more than they want to play for a jerk who knows football. So the survey doesn’t surprise me. I don’t put any stock into though. Players don’t pick coaches. I think Ben Johnson is more likely to be hired than Glenn for a HC job.1 point

you think aaron glenn sucks. why would you put any stock in this survey?1 point

Rush never recorded a song that they couldn't play live as it sounded. I appreciate that as a fan. But I also appreciate bands, like the Allmans, who would go off whereever they felt like going during a song. SRV was here a few weeks before he died... oh to have been there. His death really got to me. I was 17 and was probably the first celebrity/musician that I really liked to have died. Just numbing. He had turned his life around and damn, he was only 35. He is credited for making guitar cool again and reintroducing blues based rock after what we went through in the 80's. Yes we had EVH but that wasn't blues based. Vaughan's success specifically led to the Allmans deciding they could keep doing it and he inspired a generation that it was cool again to do that.1 point

and just like that, the dream of 2 wins out of 3 is over. the streak is dead! long live the new streak! 2 down, 27 more to go for the new record. then we'll get back on espn! you'll see!1 point

If Harbaugh goes to the Commanders with Mayhew still as their GM he's asking to fail then. No coach could be successful with someone who is so subpar at talent acquisition and drafting as Mayhew is. I wouldn't touch the Washington job unless Mayhew was gone. I think San Diego, readymade with a really good starting QB in Herbert, would be the best place for Harbaugh next season.1 point

Fair enough. I don't think they get respect from the league now. I'm more so saying the way to get that respect might not be the Jerry Jones way. Certainly it's not the David Tepper or Daniel Snyder way. There has to be some sort of middle ground, and we really don't know what is occurring behind closed doors. I also think the Cowboys are just inherently different, which kind of goes to what MTB just said.1 point

sure, but your post was all about "look at all the stuff the lions do behind the scenes. they dont ruffle feathers and they get respect with the league because of it." my point is that dallas' ownership does everything it can to make the league look stupid on a regular basis. yet they continue to get much more respect from the league and its officials than the lions ever do. oh boy! we got the draft one year! dallas got it before us. oh boy, we got a super bowl! so did dallas. being nice gets you nothing in business. be ruthless.1 point

the fords have owned the lions almost as long as the cowboys have been in existence! **** jerry jones. **** dallas. and **** the nfl. come on sheila. call out the old boys club. you'll be a hero.1 point

I saw them earlier in the 70's but it wasn't in Pontiac. Had to have been Cobo I guess. The only thing I can still picture from that show was the absolutely huge gong on the stage.1 point

This is why he doesn't have to do anything. They can just remove the game from national tv and move right along. As a side note, this is why I've been so against NBA expansion. The stars aren't just going to spread out for fun. You'll still have the same number of really good teams and just more bad ones. There will just be more teams like the Pistons, Wizards, and Spurs and that means less competitive games.1 point

right. Bill Ford Jr tried running the company for a while, decided profits would be better if someone else did. The bit that a lot of people don't realize since Henry II's family has a low profile, is that those magic 'B' shares that control FoMoCo are held by all of Henry I's heirs, both Henry II's and WCF's, while the Lions are/will be fully owned only by WCF and Martha's heirs. Henry II's side of the family has no financial stake in the Lions.1 point

While I mostly agree with the beginning of your answer, (i.e. JFK, Viet Nam eras), maybe because I am in close physical proximity to the 9/11 NYC attacks that day, and for awhile bunch of days/months going forward… including memorials for people, in towns that I lived in that died in the attacks, or at jobs in the city, that when I was commuting more than a few of these people were on the trains that ran from the northern part of Jersey and into Hoboken, and then eventually into the World Trade Center* (* For transparency sake, the train I took was from North Jersey into Hoboken; I then switched to the PATH train that went to 23rd St., as opposed to the PATH train that went through to the World Trade Center). It therefore did have a pretty huge psychological impact on me. The practical impact - less so…. But both enduring. 22 years later, and I still have a preference for getting into the west side of lower Manhattan by the George Washington Bridge going down the W. Side Highway as opposed to going further on the east side in New Jersey and taking the Lincoln tunnel into Manhattan. And why ? because I absolutely hate that ride’s Manhattan view once the towers were down and the ground is still smoldering. I went down to Jersey City to deliver some supplies for all the emergency workers who are working down there and crossing over the Hudson every day you bring them bags and bags of shampoo and soaps and toothbrushes and towels, and socks and gloves and eyedrops, anything you can think of. I needed to drop them off and you just look up at that skyline. It would weaken my knees and make me want to pass out in the beginning. Now, of course, everything is rebuilt over there, but I still hate that ride and will prefer to start way uptown in Jersey and take the George Washington to hit Matt Manhattan . I don’t know that I’ll ever change that.1 point
