I want another home playoff game. And I want maximum angst in Jerry World.2 points

If they made MBA/Finance degrees illegal US productivity would probably go up an order of magnitude.2 points

I know, it's a bit much. They need to focus on other things, like - did you know that he and Clayton Kershaw were on the same baseball team as kids?2 points

and then we get the Packers at home for the NFC Championship........RIGHT............RIGHT ?!1 point

I haven't seen anything that equates to hatred. More of a "It's time to move on" stream of messages, rather than abject hatred. I'm taking that video above as... comedy. And it is pretty funny. As long as Matt & Kelly are not subjected to anyone at the game who is a true A-Hole but rather just people who "rib" them good-naturedly... would be my preference. I expect us to win. But if we lose, I could get behind another Stafford/ Rams Super Bowl run... Or maybe the 49'ers? I could get behind a "Underdog Mr. Irrelevant Purdy" run too... Undecided. But I still love Matthew Stafford and have no ill feeling towards him. But, again, my QB/ Team today is Jared Goff/ Lions... not Stafford.1 point

Rebuttal: A) Having terrible finance guys can destroy a company (Enron, Arthur Anderson, etc...); or at the very least can lose sight of the long-term deleterious effects of misunderstanding Costs versus Profit (the Big 3 automakers, who lost out to the UAW, and to pension funding expenses, in lieu of absolutely required Manufacturing/ Engineering flexibility and Cash Flow & Expense Containment/ Cost/ Funding in (wildly) general. B) There are Finance guys who have become CEO's and been just as successful as any: Engineer/ Sales/ Marketing/ etc. guy. C) On the bolded part... It's the Stock Market, not the Federal government's fault, that the bottom line can often override good business decisions. Whether that's Engineering or an investment in Sales/ Marketing or Capital Expenditures... etc. D) After reading Romad... Yeah... Engineers "Want" to do something is not necessarily smart either. In fact, it can often be quite dumb when it is simply a waste of money that doesn't help the company in any way. BTW: That's what "outside" R&D is for: Universities or nuclear research facilities or what not. But... I've had my engineering teams get "stars in their eyes" sometimes and sorry... but my response will end up being: "sorry dudes... that just costs too much." Read: Try getting a Research Grant for that instead... I absolutely take exception to what we do not being useful to the larger society. Incorrect. But what you've described, or what you've taken exception to: is actually BAD finance rather than smart finance. I take exception to BAD finance as well. If the bottom line (or extraction profit in your parlance) overrides productive capacity or ANYTHING else that weakens a business... Then it's bad business decision-making, no matter where that comes from.1 point

no. its a nothing burger trade. gallinari barely plays on washington. he is a "threat" from 3 like joe harris is a "threat" from 3. in other words, if you have a time machine and can take this team back 5 years ago they would both be great additions. but you cant. bagley for all his many many flaws is better than gallinari. the supposed difference is gallinari can shoot 3s and bagley cant. true. but he doesnt shoot them much anymore because he is old and doesnt play very well. and if you think this somehow lessens wiseman's participation, i got news for you. bagley is better than wiseman and he didnt play. why would we think monty is going to play 0 centers on his fabled bench unit now? and why would you think harris would suddenly be a plus contributor? because the great isaiah livers is no longer blocking his way? harris - like gallinari - is cooked. done. finito. playing out the string on their massive contracts. all this does is show what a horrible extension the bagley deal was. you had to pay two second round picks to give his salary away for JUNK. its just like the plumlee deal. yet another big man signed to a ridiculous contract that you had to give assets away to get rid of ONE YEAR LATER. i'll wait for the other shoe to drop because i keep hoping that weaver isnt that stupid to make this deal without another one coming, or at least SOME type of asset coming back. but that is likely wishful thinking.1 point

I'd accept the "We Love number 9" sign on the requirement that it has a picture of Jameson Williams attached to it!1 point

I think what probably did more to ruin CJ's relationship with the Tigers was that he wasn't very good.1 point

NO, YOU'RE WEAK........YOU'RE ALL WEAK ! In my day we'd watch games with at wind chill of -59 and we'd walk uphill to get there, both ways, with no coats ! If course uphill was walking up my driveway to get in my house where I watched the game on TV with no coat on. BUT WE CAN'T DO THAT NOW, CAN WE?1 point

Use the team to assess which players are above, at or below their expected points pace as we hit the halfway point of the season. https://www.espn.com/nhl/team/stats/_/name/det/detroit-red-wings Not really that many shockers in any direction, IMO.1 point

But to oblong’s point, maybe these weren’t the numbers that the sides last exchanged. Maybe they weren’t exchanged at all. We don’t know. What we do know is the $25K difference. It isn’t a good look for the Tigers regardless of the path either/both sides took to get to their figures. That gets added to the pile of questions such as the non trade of Rodriguez, which Harris takes the L in public opinion for that (justified or not).1 point

What are you talking about? Laporta had the third best 40 of any TE at the combine. Better than all the other top TE candidates.1 point
