Big day tomorrow. When the numbers are crunched, the Tigers playoff odds should exceed Trump's presidential chances in all the models.5 points

We're not depressed, we're exhausted. Having to deal with friends, family and colleagues who used to be normal, rational, intelligent people evolve into racist, hateful, knuckle dragging cult followers sucks the life out of you. They won't follow what the Pope says about immigrants, but they will listen to Trump. There is no fact they can't twist or distort to fit their Trumpian view of the world. After hearing **** like, the Stock Market is doing well because they know Trump is coming back and Trump might not be the best person, but Biden supports abortion, so he can't call himself a Catholic...or my Priest told us not to watch the Olympics because they mocked the Last Supper...welp, I give up.3 points

The gaps between the lows and the highs with this team are excruciating. The lows cut deeper and the highs are more stratospheric because I’m a lot more invested. I’ve bought into this team this year more than I have with any team in the last many years. A big part of it is that these guys are grown and raised on our own farms which are now showing promise instead of disappointment. The youthful exuberance of the team is just infectious.3 points

Were they really normal, rational people or did they just hide their hate and bigotry because it was considered taboo (whereas now they are being told it's OK)?2 points

They won the game, so there is no reason for him to feel down. I also don't think this is going to go down as an epic game in Tigers history. There have been a bunch of memorable games the last few weeks and I don't see this game as standing out from the others.2 points

Season Series https://www.espn.com/mlb/standings/grid Det-KC KC 7 Det 6 Det-Minn Minn 7 Det 6 Det-Sea Det 5 Sea 1 Sea-KC Sea 3 KC 3 Sea-Minn Minn 5 Sea 2 KC-Minn Minn 7 KC 6 Here is why I think the Tigers would win the tiebreaker with KC as long as it was a 3-way tie involving Seattle. The Tigers head to head to head against KC and Seattle is 11-8, KC's is 10-9, and Seattle's is 4-8. How about a 3-way tie with Minnesota and Seattle? The Tigers' head to head to head against Minnesota and Seattle is 11-8, Minnesota's is 12-8, and Seattle's is 3-8. So the Tigers would still lose a tiebreaker to Minnesota, even if it involves Seattle too. How about a 4-way tie with Detroit, KC, Minnesota and Seattle, with two teams making it? The Tigers' head to head to head to head against KC, Minnesota and Seattle is 17-15, KC's is 16-16, Minnesota's is 19-14, Seattle's is 6-13. So the Twins and Tigers would make it.2 points

Umm, my life is actually better than it was 4 years ago, although that has little to do with who's in the WH. And, gee, perhaps the reason many women are depressed and anxious is because they're realizing that they're going back to being second class citizens, with less bodily autonomy than corpses?2 points

And if doctors and mothers are tried for and convicted of murder in states with the death penalty, then the state would have to execute them … you know, right to life.2 points

I thought he meant Chris Ilitch. And Foley will be just fine. His teammates bailed his a** out, so if anything he can pitch with more confidence going forward.2 points

I agree. I can almost respect the opinion that abortion should be considered murder, and take that position to its conclusion. When your position is “it’s murder, but…”, thats a pretty bad argument.2 points

Great opening drive by the Lions. Good playing calling to gain the line of scrimmage and mixing it up with a couple of nice passes.1 point

Wow, so they had to go on the road against 2 playoff contenders with winning records ahead of them and they go 5 out of 6? Incredible. Still only really have 3 starting pitchers (Olson's not all the way back yet). Miracle Mets vibes. Not only that - it's the first above .500 season since 2016 Not only that - the bonus is that the White Sux just tied the 2003 Tigers in losses and have 6 more games left1 point

nothing in human history is ever settled. Every generation not willing to stand up for the good things they have gained will lose them. Not many of the cultures that have moved human history have understood this long enough to endure as long as the US already has. Tired is not a viable choice.1 point

I know everybody is glad we won and everything else is water under the bridge, but I feel kind of bad for Jason Foley. This is going to go down as an epic game in Tigers' history and his role in it was all but losing it for us. That's gotta weigh on him some. I'm guessing he's getting a bunch of go-get-ems from coaching and the other guys.1 point

AJ pushing all the right buttons. 4 diff DH, and in 4 PH they went 3-3 and a sac fly. And it's great to see Brieske emerge as a longer-term piece. Having guys like Holton and Brieske who can pitch at any point of the game and go longer than 1, so valuable. Had butterflies in my stomach for a Tigers game for the first time in many years1 point

amazon's status reminds me of the Bell System before the breakup. The complaints about them are coming more from people who want a piece of their business than from the customers they are serving and when they are gone (if it happens) people will complain that life was simpler before they were broken up. That's not to say their size may not be unhealthy for the economy for a lot of other reasons, but IMO it's not because the value proposition that Amazon provides it's customers is a bad one.1 point
