  1. Burning everything down is stupid. America is a great country with some things that need to be fixed. You don't tear down something that's great. You try to fix what's broken.

  2. I hope they submit this to the league for discipline. A player out-of-bounds tripping an opponent should be a big deal.

  4. For Michigan there are generally two objective 1. Win a Conference title 2. Ruin OSU's season. Either one of those are accomplished and you feel successful. Sherrone Moore's season turned about to be fairly successful after all. Jim Harbaugh left things messy and it dragged out which tied his hands with recruiting. Plus there is still uncertainty with punishment over Michigan doing the things all the big schools are doing (gee, funny how a mic inside a helmet can get rid of the need for signals). The O-Line was nearly completely replaced, as well as much of the offense. They had subpar QB options with an O-Line that needs to gel and it was a recipe for disaster, which it kind of was. A lot of people were already calling for Coach's firing and I think this quiets it down - a lot. I think it would have been a horrible look for the first Black HC in the program's history to be a one-and-done. Now, everyone take a breath, he'll have much more time to recruit and the buzz from this weekend's game will help. I went into this season thinking 8-4 and they wound up 7-5. The 5 losses were vs. teams that (as of today) are ranked #1, #3, #10, #23 (road) and Washington on the road, which is always a tough game. With what they had at QB, that's actually pretty good. I like their chances for the playoffs next year, if they can get good QB play (and how could it be worse?). The O-line will be experienced and better and they'll do better with transfers. But man, you talk about a paradigm shift - in one day. And Michigan. Do the right thing now and give Moore credit for the games he coached last year. Harbaugh's gone, you don't need to kiss up to him anymore.

  5. whatever. teams have been "planting the flag" for years. michigan did it two years ago without incident. texas did it at michigan this year. i find it annoying, but its almost to be expected now. and instead of walking off the field and granting the winners their due, osu decided to attack them, take the flag and try to destroy it. yet gus decides to take MICHIGAN to task. maybe he thinks michigan should be above such petty activities and is upset that they would lower thenselves. however, the fault in this instance is with ohio state. maybe gus is a michigan gan trying to cover it up (he did go to my high school, go cubs!), but today he was annoying and very much in the bucknuts' pocket.

  6. There is the problem right there. EVERYTHING is about making the biggest profit possible. There are small companies that are trying to make a profit while also being an important part of the community, but they are becoming a smaller and smaller part of our total economny. I would love to see that reversed, but the mega corportations now have so much power and influence, I don't see it ever happening especially not with one of the wealthiest men in the world in lock step with the President.

  7. That was a mediocre team playing against a mediocre+ team. The Vikings don’t scare me, they annoy me.

  10. We are due these teams taking a step back. They have been holding serve for a while, the tiniest bit of breathing room would be very welcomed.

  11. True, although I disagree with those who want to burn it down. While not perfect, there's still an awful lot in this country that works well and/or can be fixed. And honestly I think Oblong's point was that people who are able to spend a whole day shopping probably aren't struggling nearly as much as they claimed-and I agree with him.

  12. Can't wait to hear the Sparty afternoon show choke on bitter tears on Monday and bitch about Michigan trying to plant the flag. They have NOTHING to talk about with their team after the 41-14 drubbing they took at home vs. Rutgers, so in typical Sparty form, they will obsess over Michigan. Rutghers planted their flag at Halftime. I am on the air at 3, but I will get to hear their whining for an hour and I will drink in those tears. They'll be delicious.

  16. It's honestly embarrassing for OSU. Like, now is when you take offense? NOW is when you take a proverbial stand?? They've been having their way with you for years, but not until now - after you lost a game you were expected to win by more than three scores - are you going to say "oh enough is enough" and put up a cowardly little fight at the middle of the field over a flag being proverbially planted? Hit the showers guys. Maybe next year.

  17. Thompson with another block. Goes to the other end for a tip-in. Next trip down gets the and one. Him and Holland on the floor together is an interesting choice.

  21. My wife and I went up to Greenfield Village years ago. There was an old time baseball tournament going on. Harwell happened to be there to “broadcast” a game for those in attendance. He didn’t really do play by play in as much as he and the analyst had a conversation about the goings on and the rules of the game as it was going on. Things like the batter choosing for the pitcher whether he wanted the ball higher or lower (the umpire would declare “striker, state your preference), fly balls caught on one bounce was still an out, the home team turned their backs to the local train as it went by as they were not in favor of such mechanical beasts, etc. It was really cool.
