Tigers will have a special promotion for those sitting in Sections 104 and 105: "Bring your glove to the park, because you just might be playing Right Field for the team today"2 points

I'd suggest repeated emails / phone calls to your Congress Critters / Senators asking when hearings are going to start2 points

I like City Connect. They are Fun. And serve as a reminder that it is Friday. And that nothing matters but the weekend. Plus fireworks. And that I get a two-day reprieve from my oppressive job and terrible workmates. And my internal demons and horrible thoughts temporarily subside. Yes, I like City Connect.2 points

Sanders went all around the country campaigning for Hillary, Biden, and Harris. He did dozens and dozens of rallies during these election cycles.2 points

If they don't win over those low information voters then the battle is already lost. The game is not played by the same rules anymore. The GOP are spread out shooting threes and fast breaking while the dems are doing set shots and pick and rolls. The purity of the game is lost.2 points

I‘m pretty sure the number dropped from 7 to 6 today. 46 wins would guarantee the 6th seed. Hawks can‘t do better than 46 and the Pistons have the tiebreaker over them.2 points

I think it's the one thing working in our favor. Since he doesn't care about theories or ideologies he doesn't have some kind of set program he has a hard commitment to do, he just does whatever his lizard brain comes up with he thinks make him a 'strong' leader, but then if a lot of people complain and it's unpopular (as long as it's not just his 'enemies'), his need for that adulation does temper his behavior - that's what we are seeing with this constant bobbing, and weaving over tariffs and some of the other walk backs. So it's probably important that people do keep up the energy for making noise about what they aren't liking.1 point

LOL - I owned one set of GENERALS back in the day this ad was probably from. They came on an otherwise beautiful Pontiac B Body station wagon (the old GM land cruiser). But they were compounded with this incredibly hard rubber - they would not wear out but they didn't grip anything. I finally replaced them with more than half the tread still good because they were so useless.1 point

But this president leads the branch of government charged with executing those laws and he himself was pretty much doing after his first presidency. Do we think Kash Patel of all people is going to be like "Ok boys, go get him." It's important and a big deal to people who care about such things but those people in charge of doing anything about it do not are about such things. What "we" want is irrelevant because "they" are the ones in a position to act. We can't make them.1 point

Not a "prospect" per se, but what do you know Sloth about Josh Leivo's 49-goal record-setting season in the KHL? 31 years old and never scored more than 19 points in an NHL season for the Leafs, Canucks, Hurricanes or Blues. He did have some decent points total in AHL seasons but that never translated to the NHL for him. Is he on PEDs or something, or is there any remote chance that something has clicked in the KHL and he'll be looking at NHL offers this off-season. It's just bizarre to me. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=1305581 point

the fallout that will be most immediate is JD Vance's open opposition to Trump. He's backpedaling in the article already.1 point

I like what I'm seeing. The mainstream Dems still think it's 1993.1 point

I know we're battling against people that get their news from memes, but there is no benefit to society if we evolve to just both sides exaggerating further than they do already. As I mentioned before, find anecdotal evidence and feel free to push that, but don't flat out lie. I'm already concerned about government norms being tossed away forever, this would only ensure it.1 point

They switched Perez to the outfield because he was making a lot of throwing errors, so I don't know if it's a good idea to move him back. Your Keith/Tork/Malloy scenario seems like a good possibility.1 point

On this day in 1965 Gemini III launched. It was the programs first manned mission. Gus Grissom, making his second flight and John Young making his first of six total flights. this was the first time we maneuvered a capsule to change orbits. It was a 4 hour mission. What made this flight interesting is Wally Schirra slipped a corned beef sandwich into the pocket of John young which he pulled out once in orbit for a few bites before crumbs began floating around. It was a prank but the serious people kn congress were not happy. It became a big deal. Crumbs are a no no. They can get in switches. Even today thy use tortillas for bread. Among space fans today is kind of a holiday where you eat a corned beef sandwich in his honor. John Young was my favorite astronaut. He dates back to 1962 and flew with Gus and he also flew the first shuttle mission which I remember watching. That gives me a link to the glory days. When you count leaving the moon he had 7 blast offs.1 point

Well, this isn’t the NBA. There isn’t a ten day contract option. So, yeah, it had to be a one year contract. I don’t know how much stock to put into this contract being a sign about Meadows. They just need another CF right now. This keeps Greene out of CF. He can probably handle it from a skill perspective, but why bother tempting fate (or at least increasing the odds) with an injury to the team’s best position player?1 point

Good stuff. I only did the math and didn't think about the tiebreaker.1 point

Margot is absolutely needed. Keeps Riley in LF and provides very good defense. Nice stopgap.1 point
